Kitten arrival!

After many conclusions we made about our freshly moved in pet, some of which were wrong [like it being a male instead of a female], we finally were right about one thing - she was definitely pregnant, and she definitely rewarded us with four loveliest kittens I ever saw.

[I'm not biased, ok, maybe a little :p]

What I am most proud of, is how she handled everything or how mother nature took things in her hands and made everything easier [or that's just how it looked like] ...
Except for....

The previous day, her otherwise rather weak appetite subsided, she hardly "had breakfast", and was very needy, pet me hooman, more petting!
Night was the worst, she spend it meowing and I spend it staring at the ceiling, wondering if I should get up and go to the "summer kitchen" with her, two hours later when I had to get up as noise became "too much", there she was right in front bedroom doors, and the protective net on the window was completely torn.

I couldn't blame on her, she was following her instincts, find a spot no matter of price.

5:30am, I am sitting in my pj's drinking my coffee, pretty grumpy, slight headache she is buzzing around the kitchen, sniffing, observing...jumping into a small wooden barrel [which used to hold cheese and is now one of my future deco projects], curled all up she fell into deep sleep, no wonder, tough meowing night behind.

On the other side, I was still sitting there half sleeping, half existing, but among everything excited to see what comes next!

Still not interested in food, but very willing for company and petting, as soon as I left her alone, she would come after me, I decided to change the accommodation, she needs space because who knows how many are there!

The barrel was just enough for her to curl up.
A large woven basket with a comfortable pillow will solve all problems!

Deep enough to hide it [because cats love it in moments like this], to protect the kittens, and it is also transportable in case it has to be relocated.

Halfway through my German lesson, the meowing rang out under the window again, this time I had to ignore it, but I knew she came to call me and brag about what she brought us.

First gray baby was there, crawling inarticulately, slimy, helpless.
The second that came was gray white, chubbier then brother or sister [we still have no idea about genders, nor we care a lot :D].

Break...

At some point I felt sorry for her, sitting next to the basket and gently cuddling her. I could feel the contractions running my palm over her stomach, I could also feel the movement of the remaining kittens, and then we played guessing game how many more there would be.

My guess was max 3 - I was wrong, at some point I found two more, black and black and white. That view made me laugh out loud, couldn't wait to to inform dear darling, she actually gave birth the combination he wished for the day before. :D

Completely exhausted, she let us know that this was it. She was served food in a basket, as well as water, she didn't get up for the next hours, she was petted incredibly much, she fell asleep purring.

I was so proud on her, as somehow she seems like this is hers first 'mom experience'.

No matter what, biscuits.
She was happy, and I was happy!

I have a cat gang now, can't wait to watch them running around yard, exploring and growing.

Rest of the day I spent yawning, helping dear darling to fix the damaged, net, staring at the basket, spoiling her with snacks and fresh water.

She got up once, stretched, made a circle around the kitchen, and soon went back to sleep.

Tziki is attentive mom, she curls up, they line up next to each other, or snuggle and sleep on top of each other.
Black and white one is the loudest of them all, non stop in the move, non stop looking for more milk. 😂

Later, she was transferred to the barn, for now it is the safest, most spacious place for her to enjoy in peace with the babies. Still tucked in basket, right across my working shed corner.

We will see what future brings us, hopefully lots of silly kitten scenes!

Wow! That was fast. It seems like just a couple of weeks ago, you were still determining if she was pregnant.

Kittens are so adorable. Lucky you! Enjoy this time watching them grow 🧡

Congratulations on kittens!!!! I wonder if she has permanently adopted you, or if this is her temporary home for raising kittens. My bet is she knows a good thing and she stays and you never have a mouse problem.

I think they don't eat much before they give birth so they don't poop during the process..?

That was my first thought when found out she is pregnant, so far doesn't seem like she is about to move further but you never know whit cats.

I will not regret having her no matter what.:D

Perhaps cramps aren't appetite friendly, no worries now she eats 10 times a day.🤣

I think cats pick their people. My cat picked me, even though the choice was kind of a no brainer because it was between me and my ex. But Tziki crossed countrysides to pick you!

Can't even imagine how happy you were knowing that you was the choice :D

Tziki is invited to stay, now it's her to make a decision, mostly I bond myself quickly with animals and sometimes end up 'heart broken' therefore I'm taking it slowly this time. ☺️

You can take bonding with animals that live in your house slowly??!!!

Can't even imagine how happy you were knowing that you was the choice :D

It actually took years, admittedly. Even though she's super sweet and cute, she's got kitty ptsd and will freak out and pee on things over triggers I can't figure out. Really stinky pee that doesn't wash out. I didn't want to rehome her though because I was afraid she would bounce from one home to the next. A couple years ago I actually found what would have been a permanent and decent living situation with a friend of mine, and with another cat. When I realized this meant she would be gone forever I realized how much I love her. So I begged her to stop peeing on things. She stopped! For a year... 🙄

After losing dozens of pets, yes, I can play cold for some time :D

Perhaps that was her stress response, cats however doesn't enjoy moving around. Woah a year?
I have to congratulate you on this one, since situation was stinky uncomfortabl. I admire you for having Pilot and cat both in one place, both alive. :D

It only works because they are very tiny.

Oh my gosh, that's so amazing to witness isn't it? I remember this so well from our cats years ago in our home country, seeing how nature handles this just perfectly is a great experience.

I feel so happy for you that you now have not just 1 beautiful but 4 more kittens to cuddle soon!

Congrats to the new mommy, I will keep an eye out for updates :)

It was amazing and scary at the same time, I'm not qualified to labor cat's 😂 but she was so brave, not even one meow!

Thank you!
Fell in love with them from the first moment, she is my best cuddling friend. ❤️
