Como ustedes se imaginan, yo siempre ando metida en algo y no siempre es por voluntad propia. A veces me pasa que estoy tranquila, simplemente existiendo y termino siendo escogida para hacer algo en algún lugar, que generalmente es en la universidad. Me pasó recientemente que me descuidé y ya me habían notificado que nos habían escogido, a mí y a unas amigas, para hablar en una actividad. Yo la verdad no quería, ya que la actividad no me iba a dar puntos extras ni nada, además que era con una profesora que tampoco me da clases, pero no me quedo de otra más que asistir.

As you can imagine, I'm always involved in something, and it's not always by choice. Sometimes I'm just minding my own business, simply existing, and I end up being chosen to do something somewhere, usually at the university. It happened to me recently that I wasn't paying attention and they had already notified me that they had chosen me and some friends to speak at an event. I really didn't want to, since the activity wasn't going to give me extra points or anything, plus it was with a professor who doesn't teach me, but I had no choice but to attend.

Realmente eran dos actividades, solo que una era un taller bastante interesante sobre dos personas venezolanas que ganaron un premio Cannes, uno de bronce y otro de plata. Esos premios se otorgan a creativos, digamos que es como su premio Oscar. Y siendo diseñadora gráfica, es importante conocer esos temas. Este taller era en sí una entrevista, así que estuvo bastante llena de conocimiento y de aprender a no rendirse en este mundo tan complicado de la creatividad. Por otro lado, la otra actividad era una exposición de diseño, de muchas cosas que hemos realizado a lo largo de la carrera. No se con que tuvo ese fin, pero al menos no duró tanto tiempo. A mí me tocó estar nuevamente en la ruleta de preguntas otorgando algunos premios.

There were actually two activities, but one was a pretty interesting workshop about two Venezuelans who won Cannes awards, one bronze and one silver. These awards are given to creative people, kind of like the Oscars. And as a graphic designer, it's important to know about these things. This workshop was actually an interview, so it was full of knowledge and lessons about not giving up in this complicated world of creativity. On the other hand, the other activity was a design exhibition of many things we have done throughout our studies. I don't know what the purpose of it was, but at least it didn't last too long. I was once again on the question wheel, awarding some prizes.

En esta oportunidad casi no tomé fotos, ya que hoy no me sentía tan fotogénica y también estaba un poco concentrada (y echando chisme también). Pero debo destacar que escuchar a personas que saben mucho de un tema es bastante interesante y también inspira a seguir creando. Sin dejar de lado que es muy satisfactorio mostrar nuestros diseños a otros ojos, especialmente cuando son apreciadas. Espero que les haya encantado conocer esta experiencia, nos leemos pronto!

This time, I hardly took any photos, as I didn't feel very photogenic today and I was also a bit focused (and gossiping too). But I must point out that listening to people who know a lot about a subject is quite interesting and also inspires you to keep creating. Not to mention that it's very satisfying to show our designs to others, especially when they are appreciated. I hope you enjoyed learning about this experience. See you soon!
