A DECADE AGO AND IT SEEMS LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY (En - Es)

ENGLISH
Hello, happy Thursday everyone. With so many things to do these past few months, I hadn't had time to look through my old photos, and yesterday I finally got around to it so I could clean up the images on my website that I don't need. It's always satisfying to look at photos from years ago because we get caught up in each one, and that means remembering what led to that photo, where we were, and what special moments we experienced that day, both the good and the not-so-good, but with the certainty that everything we've lived through is always important because it leaves us with lessons and experience.

A decade ago, in the middle of the school year, I was hit with a health crisis due to a gallbladder infection. I was on a waiting list for surgery at the hospital in El Tigre, but due to various circumstances, the wait kept getting longer, and in the end, it couldn't be done there. I had the money to have the surgery at a private clinic, but the infection worsened, and I was hospitalized for two weeks without food or water, just constant IV fluids and treatments. We paid for everything ourselves since there was no medication available at the health center.
When I was discharged, I had to raise the money again, and thanks to the support of friends and family, we were able to raise the necessary amount and I had the surgery at the Red Cross. After the operation, which thankfully went well, I had to follow a special diet for almost three months. In the process before, during, and after the surgery, I lost over 30 kg (66 lbs), and these photos were taken just a few days after I left the Red Cross.

My bones were very noticeable, hahaha, and they filled out again during the pandemic. It has truly been a decade with many significant events in our lives, each one as impactful as the others, but without a doubt, the life lessons are captured not only in photographs but also in our memories.
I hope you enjoyed this #tbt. Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Happy Throwback Thursday!

Thanks!
My friend! Gallbladder problems are no joke. I've never been that thin in my life; you could see my bones, just like you. The good thing is that today it's just a bad memory, and a good one at that, because we always learn something from that time, both about vulnerability and about people's kindness... I'm glad you have so many throwback photos. This is the perfect community for you to share the stories behind them, so we'll be waiting for you. Hugs, and thanks for being part of #TBT Thursdays.

Hi, thank you so much for the support.
Yes, the experience was truly unpleasant, but the learning prevails, as do the memories of those days. Best of all, I came out on top and learned firsthand the value of empathy, even from people I didn't know. I have many photos from the past; luckily, I maintain a good digital archive. It's a pleasure to share them with you. Hugs!
¡Celebrando la vida! Gracias por compartir tan hermoso recuerdo. Saludos 🤗.
