Above the Underground Hotel
Hail to the Hive!
I continued my aerial exploration of the surrounding area yesterday, heading in the direction of the town of Sav la Mar.
In the distance I saw what almost looked like a football stadium in the top right of the display and decided to go and have a closer look ( as long as I could maintain signal as I was over 1.5km from home base).
As I got closer it still resembled a sports stadium and car park from the air with what I initially thought were cars were ‘parked’ in the grounds of what seemed to be a church.
Suddenly I could see that they weren’t parked cars at all and what was ‘parked’ there was definitely in long stay parking. They were graves!
I was in fact flying over what a Jamaican taxi driver once described to me as an “ undagroun otel” ( underground hotel ).
The view of all the graves from the air certainly gave me an interesting perspective and my mind drifted back to stories of people’s spirits looking down on the world etc as the passed on to whatever realm lies beyond.
I didn’t feel what I was doing was in anyway disrespectful, certainly no more so than the youths playing football in the field next door. Life continues and the graves all next to each other made me naturally think of many things, friends and family that have passed, memories of time spent with those no longer with us. I would say that’s a positive thing all in all.
Feeling thoughtful and noticing that the battery had reached 50% I decided to turn around and make my way back. A bit like when I’m diving and my tank gets to half full really.
The drones return journey faced the mountains in the background and that combined with the greenery and blue skies made for pretty visuals as I guided the bird home.
And then, as always, one final look back…..
Really beautiful photos friend, nice shots, congratulations, the best regards 🙋
Thanks @lindoro. Was time well spent having fun taking photographs!
Wow, I would also say those were just parked cars, at the first sight. But wow, graves. So many of them, all so close one to another...
One question: Is it exciting to have a drone and do these aerial explorations?
(please, can you just tell me that it isn't hahaha, so I don't long for having a drone 😂 )
Btw, beautiful landscape, and so greeeeeeen 💚
My advice…just get one haana. They are much easier to fly than people realise, in gos mode its a doddle. Yup too much fun. Get one 🤣

The DJI mini 2 is a good starter and very reasonably priced. Get saving 🤣
I appreciate you taking the time, to either use my TAG, or post in my Community. There are plenty of them to choose from. So...
Thank you!!
You tricked me with the title... 😃 Until the last moment, I didn't know the meaning of it...
Great bird-perspective photos! Thanks for sharing...

I really like these, We've got several old graveyards around here that I've been wanting to drone over for months. Now I guess I'll have to wait for snow melt.
Yeah they came out good and it was an interesting view from the air. I was just aimlessly flying in the direction of the town and stumbled across it.
