Drone Community Update Jan 2026

Hello fellow Dronies. This is an update post for the Drone Community.
For those not following, we took a break from our weekly contests last quarter. I've decided to not continue the weekly contests for the New Year, but will continue monitoring and upvoting posts and comments.

I hope folks will continue to post their drone pics and videos to the group. This was the original intent to have a place just for drone posts so that we could all easily find and search for them. The contest came out of an initial drive to generate members and more posts. I feel it was successful in that mission, and now is mostly just the same folks posting each week with new people only every few months.

I personally need to reclaim some of my personal time, so after managing the contest for over 3 1/2 years, I'm cutting off the weekly commitment, and will just be spending more time on other interests and groups here. I'll still be monitoring, upvoting and commenting on quality posts and hope others in the group will too.

I may revisit the contest topic or have some sporadic contests in the next year, who knows?

Please continue to support the community by voting and commenting on each others posts. The rules will stay the same and are posted on the main community page.
