PhotoFeed Contest - Cityscape - Roasting Outside The Winter Garden.
Hello everyone!
On a moderately warm day in the UK, I decided to visit Avery Hill Park. It is a large piece of public land situated in between campus buildings used by the University of Greenwich south of London.
The glasshouse covers a winter garden and is the second largest Victorian era example in the UK after the Temperate House in Kew Gardens.
The building directly attached to it to the north to the glasshouse was once a mansion owned by an individual who made their fortunes by essentially creating a monopoly of the Chilean sodium nitrate trade around the mid 18th century.
Upon their death, the mansion was bought by the local council and turned it into a small college. The lands of the estate took up 600 acres (roughly the same as Alley Pond Park in Queens), most of which became the modern day park seen here.
Over time the college grew in popularity and incorporated other buildings in close proximity- eventually merging with other local institutions into one large campus.
General views of the park and estates that surround it.
Seen below is the stark contrast between immaculate turf of Charlton FC training ground and council owned parkland.
Mini planets from each end of the park!
Besies the glasshouse, not too many features within the park stand out for a mini planet but hopefully you get an idea of the amount of green space in the area!
Take care everyone!

boahhh those round shots are cool dude!! What kind of drone do you have? Or do you use an editting program for that part or is the feature on the camera of the drone?
Love the symmetrics on the building though, if only they would clean the windows ;)
