Recuperando Espacios

Los murales en nuestra ciudad capital se han convertido en un instrumento eficaz para el rescate de espacios. En las comunidades surgen como un catalizador para recuperar ruinas y paredes olvidadas, en medio de un desastre de basura. Cuando se manifiestan estas obras de arte, mucho más que una pintura es una transformación visual de embellecimiento, es el caso de este mural que les presento hoy, infinidades de veces he tenido que pasar por este camino obligado, el área era un botadero de basura propiciado por los mismos habitantes, generando problemas ambientales y un sitio inseguro.

Now I've been back, and the visual impact is astonishing, going from a space with run-down areas to a place with vibrant art that captures attention and enhances the space. The change was remarkable; it not only changed the aesthetics of the place, but also the image one had of that unsafe place. The mural created a more pleasant environment for the residents themselves.

Ahora he vuelto a pasar, y el impacto visual es asombroso, siendo un espacio con áreas deterioradas a un lugar con un arte vibrante que capta la atención y revaloriza el lugar. El cambio fue notable, no solo cambió la estética del lugar, sino, que cambió la imagen que uno tenía de ese lugar inseguro. El mural creó un ambiente más agradable para los propios habitantes

And beyond beautification, it awakened a sense of belonging in its residents, as they themselves participated in the restoration of their community spaces. The space ceased to be foreign and became our common good. Citizens became permanent guardians ensuring that their spaces were not damaged or invaded.

Y más allá de del embellecimiento, despertó en sus residentes un sentido de pertenencia, ya que ellos mismos participaron en la recuperación de sus espacios comunitarios. Ya el espacio deja de ser extraño y se convierte en un bien común nuestro. Ya el ciudadano se convierte en vigilante permanente para que sus espacios no sean deteriorados y asaltados.

With this mural, the area becomes a meeting and consensus point for its residents to gather and socialize. It strengthens community ties to promote participation for all without exclusion. Likewise, this work of art undoubtedly went down in history, as it dramatically changed the surrounding area.

Con este mural, el área se convierte en un punto de encuentro y consenso para que sus habitantes se reúnan y socialicen. Fortalezcan los lazos comunitarios para promover la participación de todos sin exclusión. De igual manera, esta obra de arte, sin duda alguna, quedó para la historia, porque dio un cambio abismal al entorno.

As I have mentioned, in our city there are many artist organizations that promote art in the streets. On this occasion, this mural was created by the Juan Montoya Foundation, in collaboration with government entities such as "Juntos Todo Es Posible" (Together Everything Is Possible), a beautiful mural created for the community, located on January 23, Monte Piedad, Block 4, Caracas.

Como les he comentado en nuestra ciudad hay muchas organizaciones de artistas que promueven el arte en las calles, en esta oportunidad este mural fue realizado por la Fundación Juan Montoya, en colaboración con entes gubernamentales como “Juntos Todo Es Posible”, un hermoso mural realizado para la Comunidad, ubicada en el 23 de enero, Monte Piedad, bloque 4, Caracas.
