Whanganui a town of street art - part 2
I've already shown you some pieces from Whanganui in this post but this smallish town a couple of hours drive north of Wellington in New Zealand as a lot more to other so I present to you here, another 6 pieces of art...
This piece I absolutely love, there is something so complex and yet simple about the monochrome work, like it's the drawings that a school kid would make in his/her notebook as he/she wasn't paying attention in maths class, and then a red bin, well a red bin and black and white walls, that's just gold.
Who doesn't love a huge cat, and this one is huge, I mean it could chase that car.
This gives a sense of just how much art there is here, and how diverse it is, and how much it bring the streets alive.
This is the sort of high art pieces you get when you have a organised commissioning of 'street' art, it's more of a mural than a street art, unless of course that bird has some deep political views.
This reminds me of a bar in Singapore, or maybe it wasn't Singapore, maybe it was Austin, and maybe it wasn't a bar but a bakery, look I really confused, but I like the pink, and tiger (or is it a leopard or cheetah) and the boldness in this
This is the other type of work Iike, I have the feeling this was all done a once, but I like how things interact with each other.
I loved them all, especially the first one! Can you imagine if all the cities, neighborhoods in the world, instead of political advertisements, covered their walls with art. I think the world would be a more livable space. Greetings
