STREET ART #182 – Beautiful street art in Aalborg, Denmark

I know that I have posted quite a lot of street art from Aalborg, but new pieces keeps coming. Aalborg has lots of amazing murals. Both local and international artists have contributed to that. For more than ten years now, the mural project called «Out in the Open» has been running. Kirk Gallery is behind the project.



In a backyard behind Kirk Gallery I found this beautiful portrait in black & white. It has been painted by the artist SWED. This work is called «Catharsis». I don't know much about the artist, except being French and painting beautiful black & white portraits. Just like this mural. I checked on internett and saw lots of beautiful, expressive faces.


In the same backyard, but on the back of the building you will find The «Fallen King», painted by AKUT, who is part of HERAKUT, a duo that has contributed with lots of streets art. AKUT's work has a photorealistic touch with elements of graffiti. The «Fallen King» shows a gragile little boy wiht ambitions. This little king therefor has to wait patienly to grow, or hang out with the gang in his neighborhood.


This mural is called «Transition». It localted in a residential area consisting of tall buildings. The artist is Argentenean Hyuro. It was painted in 2016. I just haven't seen it before. As far as I know the artist is currently living in Spain, and has been an active street artist for years.



Both of these I found in the recreational park Karolinelund in the city center. This park is very popular, not only as a park to sit on a bench. There are lots of walls used by street artist. Always a place I take a look whenever I am in town.
