Jedinečný Výpustek; Vypustek - The Unique Cave

Ke konci školního roku uspořádala kolegyně výpravu do jeskyně Výpustek u Křtin a mě a mou třídu vzala s sebou. Zatímco venku panovaly tropy, jeskyně poskytovala příjemný chládek. 

EN: At the end of the school year, one of my colleagues organized a trip to the Výpustek Cave near Křtiny and invited my class and me to join. While the weather outside was hot and sunny, the cave offered a welcome escape from the summer heat.

Exkurze byla poučná. V jeskyni byla během protektorátu zřízena továrnana součástky do leteckých motorů a v době studené války zde byl zřízen protiatomový kryt pro prominenty režimu. Též zde byla stálá vojenská posádka fungující v tajném režimu.

The guided tour was both interesting and educational. During the Second World War, when the Czech lands were under Nazi occupation, part of the cave was converted into a factory producing aircraft engine components. Later, during the Cold War, it was transformed into a nuclear fallout shelter for high-ranking communist officials. A secret military unit was also stationed there.

Přizpůsobení průmyslu a vojenským účelům se na jeskyni velice podepsalo. Podlahy byly vylity betonem, aby  zde mohly být instalovány stroje, na nichž pracovaly stovky lidí. Aby stroje fungovaly, tak nad nimi byly postaveny dřevěné přístřešky, které zachytávaly neustále kapající vodu. Též zde byla vybudována kotelna s rozvodem tepla, nad hlavami se potom klene potrubí vzduchotechniky. Stropy jsou očouzené, protože před útěkem Němci továrnu zapálili. Prostory mají chudou krápníkovou výzdobu, vše bylo poničeno a nová roste pomalu.

The industrial and military use left a deep mark on the cave. Large areas of the floor were covered with concrete so that heavy machinery could be installed, where hundreds of people once worked. Wooden shelters were built above the machines to protect them from the constant dripping water. A boiler room and a heating system were added, and ventilation pipes still stretch across the ceilings. The cave ceilings are blackened by smoke because the retreating German army set the factory on fire before leaving. The cave contains only a small number of dripstone formations, as most of them were destroyed and new ones grow very slowly.

V současné době je v jeskyni vybudována expozice, v největším dómu se čas od času pořádají koncerty.

Today, the cave houses a modern exhibition, and concerts are occasionally held in its largest chamber, whose excellent acoustics create a unique atmosphere.

V dřívějších dobách ve Výpustku přebývali jeskynní medvědi.

Při zpáteční cestě jsme se zastavili v městečku Křtiny, kde stojí krásný barokní kostel stavitele Jana Blažeje Santiniho Aichla.

On our way back, we stopped in the small town of Křtiny to visit its beautiful Baroque church, designed by the famous architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel.
