Another Shitty Walk with Shitty Photos
Time to clear my head a bit.
The weather in Havana is starting to turn into the eternal summer we’re used to. So, walks around the city need to be spaced out or done later.
I took a little stroll adjusted to the new schedule along part of the Malecón in Havana.
The So-called: Couch of the Habaneros
At any time, you’ll find foreigners and Cubans sitting on the Malecón wall.
It doesn’t matter the sun, the heat, or the hour. The views from here are wonderful.
Havana?
Just mentioning the name, I’m sure a colonial landscape comes to mind, right? Or something very similar?
However, over the years, the skyline of the Malecon has transformed into just giants of concrete.
As if they wanted to block the view of the sea.
That said, from one of those giants, the midday view is beautiful.
With the rise of tourism investment, every empty lot has been turned into large hotels.
To illustrate this, here’s a photo.
Don’t focus on the crane, but on the buildings behind it that belong to the two towers of the relatively new and luxurious: Grand Aston Habana Hotel.
The reality is that these hotels are empty, but they have influenced the architectural change of the Havana coastline.
Some people like it. Personally, the fewer buildings, the better.
I like to see images of when the Malecón was just wooden shacks. People would go to enjoy the natural pools that had formed.
I wish I had lived in those times.
While I was telling you about this change, I stopped to refresh myself and "feel" the Malecon a bit.
So much so that it started to get dark.
And of course, I kept noticing what I was telling you.
The Malecon is dominated by tall buildings. There are very few houses left.
In this photo, in the background (the green building), is one of the wonders of Cuban architecture.
The Focsa building, with its peculiar book-like shape (we can talk about that in another post).
But my partner reminded me that I was missing the best part of the Malecón.
If you follow my posts, you must know what I’m talking about!
I was looking in the wrong direction. I was missing the best of this place.
But don’t worry, I won’t leave you without that privilege.
As simple as turning around...
and...
Another sunset at the Malecón in Havana.
In this post, I’ll share more sunsets from different points in the city.
No matter how many you see, none are the same as the previous one.
And with the fall of the evening, our little walk along the Malecon comes to an end.
The photos may not be of the best quality, but that’s what this community is for, right? Still, I hope you enjoy them.
Let me know when was the last time you walked through your city without looking at the clock, without being in a hurry, or without knowing where you were headed?
For me, that doesn’t happen very often.
Lately, I try to find moments like this; enjoying my partner’s company and, above all, the privilege of having those views.
Read you soon!

The sunset view of your post just amazing. Nice photography my friend. Sunset moments are so beautiful to watch and enjoying.
You're absolutely right about sunset moments. Thanks for the kind words , but I didn't do much , just press a bottom , nature is amazing, not me ;)
Welcome 😊😊 my friend.

Have a great wknd too
I don't know what to say about these images, they remind me of Spanish coastal towns whose beaches have been eaten by concrete and cement. That sunset is great, thank you. Looking forward to the next ones.
Best regards @dahpilot.
Years back a Spanish friend told me that this process also happens there; I see he’s not the only one with that opinion. It's a shame, but it's the so-called 'urbanization'—or destruction, I would say.
Still, we can still enjoy beautiful sunsets; not everything is lost, I guess ;)
Thanks for always stopping by
Have a nice week my friend
