Entry for the Shadow Contest/SMASh - Round - 428 - Outdoor gym

Good afternoon, everyone.

Welcome to my entry for today's SMASh contest from "The Shadow Hunters Community"!

This weekend, I went for a short walk to a place very close to my home.

I went to Amadora, and ended up taking a stroll through Amadora Central Park. This park, located right in the heart of Amadora, next to the train station, was a big part of my childhood and teenage years.

Often, on weekends, I would go to a traditional restaurant where the owner was a friend of my father’s, and we would spend most of Saturday snacking there and playing or strolling through the park I revisited this weekend.

After some effort, I managed to make my way to the street where, many years ago—surely nearly forty years ago—my father used to take me to get a haircut. The barbershop was very close to this park and to the restaurant “O Mangas” that I’ve mentioned here.

I ended up revisiting many childhood and teenage memories on this little stroll. The scents, the sounds, the laughter, and the endless games on those long summer afternoons... Just like now. The days are much longer, and since the sun doesn’t set until around 9 p.m., to capture the golden hour, we have to stay a little longer and let the magical shadows of that time of day make their appearance!

A structure that is part of an outdoor gym that was recently installed served as the model I used to capture the shadows in this post. Its light tones, with arms that almost resemble tree branches and are interconnected, give the park an almost perfect harmony with the surrounding environment.
