Shadows and Reflections from the past
On this day in 2018, I lived on the 10th floor, my windows faced due east.
The Morning sun made it nearly impossible to get any work done at my PC, the blinds on those windows were IMPOSSIBLE for one person to raise/lower.
July next year, I was getting pics of some storms, and inadvertently got a selfie in the reflection
Last March 2022, I got this one here at my own home↓
(↑Taken with my cellphone obviously)
My shadow leads me forward,
If the sun is at my back.
It joins with me at my feet,
The soles of which are black.
Sometimes it is distorted,
Sometimes it’s crystal clear,
But always it reminds me,
That I am real and I am here.
In some ways my shadows,
Are much like my reflections,
They have my basic shape,
They follow my reactions.
My reflection is better,
It’s what other people see.
It is so very liberating,
Always being me.

A musician and a poet! Respect, my friend @jerrytsuseer!
Sharing my writings was the main "thrust" of my coming to the blockchain @acgalarza

Since I couldn't afford to copyright stuff (I have over 1400 original compositions) I reasoned that since the blockchain is forever, if I found someone using my writings without permission, at least I could point to where I'd posted it in 2017 with my name and date and the © symbol.
Time came and went, Steemit became the Hive, and I thought so many new people had not seen my writings, so I began sharing them again, and was SOUNDLY "Thrashed about the head and shoulders" for being a 'serial reposter'
So now if I repost, I have to make some change, which most times for me is diluting or almost raping the original.
That poem originally had this original image to go with it
Thanks for commenting.
Wow! 1400 compositions??? I can't even begin to imagine that much creativity!
The reposting thing is not very clear to me but I better stay away from that! 😁
Well, I'm looking forward to your upcoming creations, @jerrytsuseer!

Here is the way they explain it to me.
There is ONE "voting pool" that is drawn from when someone upvotes a post.
So let's say I repost something a couple of years later. Someone upvotes that post.
Then I am "Double Dipping" from the vote pool, getting rewarded twice for the same content.
Not good
Yes, that sounds unfair!
"Double Dipping" - you made me think of Seinfield! 🤣👍
That is what "they" call it, but not like dipping a used chip a second time.
That be nasty 🤣
The last one was my favorite, those colors looks really great!
Thanks, you might think that was a flash going off, but it was really the sun.
I moved around until I got it just right
Glad to see you were wearing clothes in those two shots.
Yew sew kwazy, you can't really tell though, can you? Well in the last you can tell I have on a V neck tee

I so loved your poem Jerry! Loved every word of it. My! You are so talented each word resonates.
You have me a bit of a hard time looking at your first photo, I had to zoom it looking for your reflections but it's more vivid when seen a bit further away
Now, your second photo, really is amazing. First I did not have a hard time looking for you!😄😄
It gave me a bit of a chill though, it looked like I am looking at a ghost apparition. Forgive me, haha just my thoughts when I saw it.
I wish to see your entry on one of the winners for this week.
Good luck!
Good Morning @aideleijoie , I am glad you liked my post and the images.
In that first image, I can only really make out my hand and the camera, I think somewhere I have a filtered image that brought out my reflection a bit more.
I'm not sure if I added the proper tags to be in any contest. For me, when I come to the community looking, with 4-6 pinned posts, I have just stopped looking to see what to shoot for and get tags.
So I just post.
I actually WROTE that poem for the shadow contest way back in Steemit (I think) so that part, if it were a standalone, would be considered a repost. (No No NO 😱)
