entry reflections 137: a tall autumn tale

it was a beautiful sunny and calm october day so i was out by the pond taking photos of the striking foliage and their reflection. suddenly this insect crawled straight across my lens


luckily it happened to position itself perfectly so it almost looks like shadows from the trees. but i got so confused trying to get rid of it i didn't notice that


just as i took the next shot some guy practicing for halloween jumped right in front of the camera.

i took the photos the last time i visited my mother in the house where i grew up. each year when i was young we enjoyed the wonderful colors on the other side of the pond from our house. sorry to say that house and land has been sold out of the family so it is not likely i shall return to that now faraway place again. no worries though, i search for beauty wherever i go and i often find what i am looking for.
