Venezuela's Model Cathedral Par Excellence | Eng-Esp | La Catedral Modelo Por Excelencia De Venezuela
Hello Architecture and design lovers, I hope you are feeling well. My girl and I made magic to be able to take this beautiful cover photograph of one of the most important catholic churches in Venezuela, since being located in the center of Caracas, and as I told you before, it is very complicated to photograph the facades because it is a small, overpopulated city and every space is used to the maximum. Even so, playing with the angles we were able to get this cover that makes me proud and is very similar to what I wanted to show you. Today I present to you the Cathedral of Caracas.
It is not the first time I visit its facilities, but it is the first time I go to mass with all my intention to capture moments to share them in a post. For me this is the most important church in Venezuela, since it is the Cathedral of the Capital of the country, it is located in the Capitol and administratively it is the leading seat of the Catholic religion in my country. It is accompanied by the main Plaza Bolivar of Venezuela, a pattern that is repeated in every town in the country where the cathedral and the Plaza Bolivar are always together since colonial times. It is not the most elegant church in terms of design, but being here you feel its importance and imposing.
Although it may not look like it from the outside, it is a very, very large church, and I only visited the areas that are allowed for the general public. Upon entering you can see three large aisles, separated by thick pillars. There are many lamps and earth colors. When you approach the altar you can appreciate that it is not just the small space we see from the pews, it is a very large aisle with a beautiful black and white checkered floor that ends with an imposing and ancient musical organ, which is fully functional. In fact in the celebration of the Eucharist that day, a musician played the organ while accompanying a soprano, it was a very special moment for me as a musician, besides I was not expecting it.
The two side aisles are also very wide. You can continue walking for many meters from the area where the benches end. At the end of the aisles you can see more minor altars and many religious works of art. To the right of the church are also arranged large aisles where paintings and sculptures are appreciated and also end with a small altar in the background; practically there are many chapels inside the cathedral, it is simply amazing because I have hardly seen such magnitude in other temples, and I have visited churches in this life. I will leave you some pictures of the spaces that I liked the most:
I imagined that being in the center of the city there would be a lot of noise, but this is not the case. The place is so large and loud that outside noise is lost. The acoustics are excellent and there is also wonderful sound amplification. I went in the middle of the day, but it was not hot. I didn't notice if there were fans or not, but the temple is very cool and transmits the peace I need when I attend church. The dim lighting is perfect, it is not too bright or too dark, and there is a breeze coming in through the side doors on the right. The architects did a great job to exalt one of the powers of the Venezuelan Catholic religion, without a doubt it is a place that you can not miss when you are a tourist...

Hi Andrew!. I've always thought it's because you came from the same era that brought the Catholic religion into our lives. I actually see that over the years and the sense of ownership everyone agrees to keep the original structures because they really recognize them as works of art. Thanks for visiting my post, I visited you at the Hive Open Mic, it was amazing, as always when you show up there...
Tu publicación me trae lindos recuerdos.
Happy Monday Isa!, thanks for visiting and commenting on my post!!! I can't deny that at least for political matters they have taken care of maintaining the main tourist areas in Caracas, especially in the central area. Of course as well as there are cared for areas like the Cathedral, you will find a lot of neglect just a few blocks away, but they have focused on maintaining spaces and architectural works of interest. Reading you makes me see that they have paid attention and that when they want to, they can do things well and fast. I hope they take care of maintaining everything that has already been created, both the government and the citizens themselves, and I hope you can visit a church and sit and meditate there too, it is the same as at home, but depending on the place and the moment it feels like a caress on the soul when you pray in a special place for it...
Beautiful cathedral outside and inside, I really liked it ❤️
And I feel that I still have a lot to discover in it. I hope to be able to sing here soon and see the spaces that are not allowed for the general public. Thanks for visiting and commenting on my post friend!...

I like this architecture. This building reminds me of churches in Indonesia. Moreover, I am always amazed at how much there is in the church. thank you for sharing
Hello my friend!. I'm glad to see that in your area there are similar structures in Catholic buildings as well. This is very old, from the time when the Spaniards brought the religion to my country, in every village there is a church with this architectural model in front of a square and always in the central area of the region. Particularly in this church is incredible all the details that today make it practically a museum...
