Hello Architecture and Design lovers! It is a pleasure for me to greet you from this community and I am glad to have a new magical place to record and share in my blog. Last year before my dad's accident I visited this imposing modern church in the city of Caracas, I remember it was a very eventful day and we got off the bus straight to the concert, I had practically no photos left of that visit and I regretted it a lot because the place is really amazing, but now I have been able to return, with the same purpose of presenting us in concert, but with more time to know its interesting installations.

¡Hola amantes de la Arquitectura y el Diseño!. Es grato para mí saludar desde esta comunidad y me alegra tener un nuevo lugar mágico que registrar y compartir en mi blog. El año pasado antes del accidente de mi papá conocí esta imponente iglesia moderna en la ciudad de Caracas, recuerdo que fue un día muy accidentado y nos bajamos del autobús directo al concierto, prácticamente no me quedaron fotos de esa visita y lo lamenté mucho porque el lugar es realmente asombroso, pero ahora he podido regresar, con el mismo fin de presentarnos en concierto, pero con más tiempo para conocer sus interesantes instalaciones.

My experience began on an afternoon of grey blue sky, which has played to perfection in the contrast between the exterior design and nature, highlighting the earthy colours of the infrastructure, I am in love with the final result of these photographs, I didn't even want to add an edit. This place is called Iglesia La Sagrada Familia de Nazareth and is located in La Tahona, a parish in Caracas so catholic that as a community they have managed to build and maintain this modern sacred temple for several years.

Mi experiencia comenzó en una tarde de cielo gris azulado, lo que ha jugado a perfección en el contraste entre el diseño exterior y la naturaleza, resaltando los colores tierra de la infraestructura, estoy enamorado del resultado final de estas fotografías, ni siquiera quise agregar una edición. Este lugar se llama Iglesia La Sagrada Familia de Nazareth y queda en La Tahona, una parroquia de Caracas tan católica que como comunidad han logrado construir y mantener este templo sagrado moderno por varios años.

I have never seen a catholic church with such a large courtyard, I think that when they do processions or massive activities they can receive many people not only in the courtyard, but also inside because it is huge. At the end of the courtyard, near the trees that surround the place, there is a small chapel that you can see in the photo above, as if it wasn't enough what I discovered inside and that I will show you later.

Nunca había visto una iglesia católica con un patio tan amplio, creo que cuando hacen procesiones o actividades masivas pueden recibir a muchas personas no solo en el patio, sino también en el interior porque es enorme. Al final del patio, ya cerca de los arboles que rodean el lugar hay una pequeña capilla que pueden ver en la foto de arriba, como si no fuera suficiente todo lo que descubrí dentro y que ya voy a mostrarles más adelante.

For my musical group, this is an area of Caracas quite far away from our daily life, I don't think any of us 100 ever pass through this area, so again we arrived quite late for our concert, but part of my success in getting to know the facilities and taking pictures is due to the fact that there was a wedding and because of the rain it was delayed for a long time. Above I show you the view of the altar from the entrance and I think you can also catch the bride and groom saying "I do" in front of God and the priest.

Para mi agrupación musical, esta es una zona de Caracas bastante alejada de nuestra cotidianidad, creo que ninguno de nosotros 100 pasa por esta zona nunca, así que nuevamente llegamos bastante al límite de la hora de nuestro concierto, pero parte de mi éxito para conocer las instalaciones y tomar fotografías se debe a que había un matrimonio y por motivos de lluvia este se retrasó bastante. Aquí arriba les muestro la vista del altar desde la entrada y creo que también pueden alcanzar a los novios diciendo "Sí" frente a Dios y el sacerdote.

A continuación les compartiré estas tres fotografías de la zona central del templo, el altar, una vista de la parte del medio y una fotografía de la entrada (o salida si ya estamos dentro)...

Is it beautiful? Yes, it is very beautiful, is it modern? Of course it is, it is far from the colonial catholic churches in the centre of Caracas that I have always shared with you, but, as beautiful as it is, and unlike its imposing façade, the truth is that I find it boring, that is why I wanted to show you these three pictures together that I took from the middle of the site because I walked, walked and walked and really everything looked the same on all four corners, and the site is very, very large... One thing I appreciate about this church is that it doesn't have big pillars in the centre; they are usually very striking, but they reduce the visibility of the village. Another thing to note is that it is so, so tall that the acoustics are perfect for presenting music like we do. The sound return made me think we were angels singing, modesty aside.

¿Es hermosa?... Sí, es muy hermosa. ¿Es moderna?... Por supuesto que sí, se aleja de las iglesias católicas coloniales del centro de Caracas que siempre les he compartido, pero, por más bella que sea, y a diferencia de su imponente fachada la verdad es que me parece aburrida, por eso les quise mostrar estas tres fotografías juntas que tomé desde la mitad del sitio porque caminé, caminé y caminé y realmente todo me pareció igual por las cuatro esquinas, y vaya que el sitio es muy, muy grande... Algo que aprecio de esta iglesia es que no tiene grandes pilares en el centro; generalmente son muy llamativos, pero reducen la visibilidad del pueblo. Otro detalle a destacar es que es tan, pero tan alta que la acústica es perfecta para presentar música como la que hacemos nosotros. El retorno sonoro me hacía pensar que eramos ángeles cantando, modestia aparte.

The emotion came back to me when I visited the two side aisles to the central area of the temple. In fact this is where they have the religious images that we are used to seeing in Catholic churches. The same pattern of colours in each area I visited, and in addition to these corridors we went to the parish area and the offices where we were allowed to store our belongings and get ready for the concert. Really the whole place is wonderful and very well kept, I think only the central area seemed boring to me, and I was really disappointed to see the same patterns over and over again in such a big place, here are some extra images of other halls and small chapels inside the church:

La emoción volvió a mí al visitar los dos pasillos laterales a la zona central del templo. De hecho ahí es donde tienen las imágenes religiosas que acostumbramos a ver en iglesias católicas. El mismo patrón de colores en cada zona que visitaba, y adicional a estos pasillos fuimos hasta la zona parroquial y las oficinas de atención que es donde nos permitieron guardar nuestras pertenencias y arreglarnos para la hora del concierto. Realmente todo el lugar es maravilloso y está muy bien cuidado, creo que solo la zona central me pareció aburrida, y es que realmente ver los mismos patrones una y otra vez en un lugar tan grande me decepcionó, aquí abajo le dejo algunas imágenes extra de otros salones y capillas pequeñas dentro de la iglesia:
