Flyover MBK Centre Architecture
Hello everyone and Architecture & Design Community
Warm greetings to all of us..
Krung Thep Maha Nakhon, a capital city known as Bangkok, Thailand, is a very busy metropolitan city, becoming a city popular with foreign tourists, especially Southeast Asia. This city has its own charm, where the city is complete with a variety of existing entertainment. I just vacationed from Bangkok, Thailand, last month. One of the cities that I like, because the city has a uniqueness that not all cities have.
Walking around the city of Bangkok will definitely not miss coming to the big malls that this city has, such as Platinum Mall which is famous for cheap, high-quality goods, Centra world, and many other malls that I can't write down because there are too many. The city of Bangkok is a city that has many large malls, so in demand by foreign tourists, especially Indonesians, to look for branded goods at much cheaper prices than Indonesia.
On my fourth day in Bangkok, I plan to visit several malls in Bangkok to see the grandeur of malls in Bangkok that are not in the city where I live, Medan. I plan to go to the MBK Center, the main reason for going to the MBK Center is because access to the mall is very easy, with various available public transportation such as buses, MRT and KRL. The distance from the hostel where I stayed was also very close, only by taking the bus in 20 minutes I arrived at the MBK Center.
At that time, the sun was hot and a little hot, even so, the wind was still blowing hard so I didn't feel too tired. Arriving at the bus stop, I got off the bus and climbed the stairs to the MBK Centre, I followed the directions, one of the things I like about this city is that it has clear directions for foreign tourists, maybe MBK Center is a mall that is often visited by many tourists.
I climbed the stairs slowly, not only me, many people chose to climb the stairs to the MBK Center from this road, then I was surprised to see the path leading to the MBK Center. I passed the flyover that is above the highway, this bridge is so big and wide, it doesn't even look like a bridge, because the floor is so wide and solid. In fact, I didn't feel any shaking when I was on this flyover. usually, if we cross a flyover, we will really feel the shaking due to moving vehicles.
On this bridge, it is made as beautiful as possible, there are several interesting things, I will discuss them one by one, we start with the colored umbrellas. Well, actually it's not suitable to say colored umbrella, but I also don't understand what the name of this umbrella is. There are lots of roofs that are made and created very fancy, I see like mushrooms growing, having roofs and trunks, designed as beautifully as possible to beautify this flyover. This colored umbrella is very suitable in tropical areas like this, so that pedestrians can take shelter from the hot sun and rain, this makes it easier for pedestrians who pass through this route to get to the MBK Center.
Apart from being a place to take shelter, this umbrella adds to the aesthetic value of the flyover, many tourists take pictures in this place, one of which is because of the beautiful umbrellas that have a high artistic touch. Apart from the umbrella, there were also some very large planet-colored balls, reminding me of the marbles I used to play with as a child. The planetary spheres are numerous and add maximum aesthetic value to this bridge, there are also several small spheres that are as white as snow.
I walked to the MBK Center after looking at the beautiful flyover, although I was a little sweaty because the weather was really warm. Then see there are some statues shaped like dogs, or cats? Of course, as an animal lover, I love this statue. The dog statue is very large, standing firm despite the heat and rain. There is also a cascading arrangement made of silver-like material shaped like a fir tree, perhaps this was also made for this year's Christmas ornament.
I entered the MBK Center, I intend to look for some genuine Thai make up products, they said Thailand has lots of good make up products that you can try. However, before that I found several street food merchants in a mall. Various foods are sold, especially Thai specialties. You will be interested in trying some of the food because it is very appetizing.
By the way, I also just found out that MBK Center is not the biggest mall in Bangkok city, beaten by the new Mall that opened in 2018, ICON Siam. In fact, seven years ago, when I used to go back and forth to Bangkok to sell clothes, the MBK Center mall is the biggest mall in Bangkok, should I go to ICON Siam? Wait for the next post!
See you the next time hive friends!

It really is a beautiful part of the city that you show us, really with the colors and the way it is used gives the impression of being a futuristic city.
I really love to share interesting stuff like this. Bangkok is a metropolis, so something like this should be an attraction for tourists, like me :)
Awesome. It has been a while since I was in the MBK Center.
This is also after 7 years of not going to Bangkok, many things have changed :D
Cool. I cant wait to go back!

I love the color combination of the floor, it looks neat.
The color also doesn't make the floor conduct heat well, such a good combination.
Oh wow! I love organic architecture @aswita! You haven't been inside the MBK Center's interior premises yet, and you're already fully serenaded by a heartwarming surprise - its nature-themed outdoor environment! Incredible! 😊
Shouldn't all commercial malls around the world be like this?
In Indonesia it is very sad, in fact it is very difficult to find beautiful flyovers, even though they were built by the private sector, none of them are as decent as this. Most in my area are only small malls, maybe because my area is also small.
That's alright @aswita. Perhaps sooner or later, your beautiful country of Indonesia will be able to catch up in innovating their urban architecture. It's just a matter of time. 😊
