Awaian Coffee House
Hello everyone,
Why do you think there are so many coffee shops mushrooming in this world during the last 5 years? I think everyone needs coffee to brew and enjoy it relaxing or hanging out with friends. Lots of coffee shops have been established one by one in my city, so that almost all of my writings about design and architecture always talk about coffee shops.
Well, I think almost every week I find a coffee shop, even in my house there are lots of coffee shops. At every corner of the street, I always find a coffee shop, almost like a convenience store, there are so many of them. Not only serving coffee, they always provide the best in the form of visual design and architecture of the coffee shop building.
Like yesterday, my husband and I walked in the afternoon, we walked to find takjil and enjoyed the beautiful evening. At that time, I really wanted iftar with coffee with milk, intending to visit one of the coffee shops near our house that we had never been to before. It didn't take much time and distance, only 500 meters from the house, we found Awaian coffee shop which was very busy with lots of people.
My husband once told me that this coffee shop was built from a classic luxury house that had been standing for a long time. This house is very big, it seems that the owner of this coffee shop is very rich so he can make a coffee shop out of a big house like this. The size of this house is so big, I'm even very tired when exploring this coffee shop. This house is 2 stories, but the building looks like 3 floors.
Coincidentally, it was raining in the city of Medan, so we stopped at the coffee shop even though we didn't eat or drink, just waiting to be picked up by our father so we wouldn't get caught in the rain. So, while waiting to be picked up, I also took lots of photos at this coffee shop because I was very curious about the entire building of this house.
Awaian Coffee House, is indeed very appropriate with the name that makes it a coffee house. The vibes are very thick by brewing coffee at home, this coffee shop is very friendly with its visitors. Plus the rainy atmosphere that makes this coffee shop look very warm for existing visitors.
What I'm surprised is, the owner of the house is so confident about using this house as a coffee shop. The building of this house has great value, of course it is a loss if it is used for a coffee shop that is visited by many people, where there should be many future renovations for this house, but surely the home owner already understands the pros and cons, that this house is able to provide great benefits. big enough if left alone. In fact, the investment value will be very high in the future if this house is not left empty.
Really like being at home, this house looks very familiar like the rich man's house I saw on television. This is a typical house of the rich in Indonesia in the 1990s. It has a sturdy building with several wooden ornaments on the stairs and handles. Not only saw it, I even touched some of the wood in the house, I am absolutely sure that the quality of the wooden ornaments used is very sturdy and has been used for more than 20 years.
It didn't change the shape of the building much, in fact they only added a few chairs with wooden accents and also a barista table as well as some screens and a canopy to increase the area of the coffee shop. using a carport for several tables and chairs which are very comfortable for visitors to use, this coffee shop really makes use of the various existing spaces. Because this coffee shop is very crowded, even every night there are no chairs and tables left.
Well, interestingly, I also went up to the second floor to see the shape of the building from above. I am very amazed by this house, which is very, very large. But I'm a little afraid of the second floor because the vibes are really horror. I saw a rocking chair that looked very scary, plus no one was on the 2nd floor. Well, I felt like I was seeing a very real horror movie that I usually see on television. Hopefully no jumpscare while I'm here. I remember my grandfather's house which was similar to this, but it was sold a few years ago. This is a picture of the homes of the rich in Indonesia in the 1990s.
Awaian coffee house is indeed very epic with a very large and luxurious old house. This house is very sturdy with buildings, ornaments and has its own characteristics. Apart from being a cool and exciting place, Awaian coffee house is perfect for enjoying coffee like home.
See you the next time hive friends!

One aspect of the design that particularly stood out to me was the use of traditional Indonesian elements, such as the batik-inspired murals and the woven rattan chairs. This not only adds cultural significance to the coffee shop but also creates a sense of authenticity and identity.
I appreciate the attention to detail in the selection of furniture and decor, which truly elevates the space and makes it stand out. The combination of vintage and modern elements creates a unique and eclectic ambiance, and the use of plants and natural light adds a calming and refreshing feel.
I enjoyed the post.
I agree, that this coffee shop is very thick with traditions in Indonesia, especially the Javanese ethnicity. Thanks for stopping by :)
Hi @aswita, the coffee shop place is amazing, it also has beautiful decorative designs my favorite the carving on the door and stairs, those flowers give it a great style, every decoration of this coffee shop has very peculiar characteristics.
Greetings!
Yes, this place is really amazing, because it remains true to the original building of the house and without the slightest renovation. Enjoy coffee like at home.
Amazing architectural transformation dear @aswita. Since the Indonesian market for coffee shops is massively thriving, I believe the evolution of old and prestigious residences into cafes is an awesome business move. And although some of them may host paranormal activities, it's one of the potential risks involved with such renovations. 😊
Are there many such cases of ghostly incidents happening in ancient houses converted into coffee shops?
Whoa, when it comes to haunted houses turned coffee shops there are so many. one of them is near my house, even the lights in the coffee shop never turn off at all because it takes care that no paranormal activity occurs. I'll try to sneak into that coffee shop sometime, because they have great coffee too. So, ghosts don't beat the taste of coffee at the coffee shop.
OMG! Is that true @aswita? I could simply imagine the hair-raising reactions of the Architects, Designers, and all those involved with those haunted projects. And I'm pretty sure there are plenty of spooky stories circulating about these paranormal experiences. Please be extra careful in case you push thru with investigating these old houses. 🙏😊
Ahahahaha I'm not lying. You wouldn't even think it looked like a haunted house, because it was so well renovated. After the month of Ramadan I will try to visit the coffee shop and tell a lot about it.
Coffee shop look beautiful,it good consuming coffee early morning to boost your body regulations.
