Only 15 days are left until my flight from Budapest to Tenerife (2023.11.15)

avatar

I am currently happy, because my upcoming flight from Budapest to Tenerife is getting closer and closer. Currently only 15 days are left until the flight. Roughly two weeks. So the flight will be on the morning of 2023.11.30.

I think about the true love and the true happiness I will have again soon, and this is what makes me happy. The thought that soon I will have a bird again. Maybe not in December, but soon I will buy a bird (either a Harris's hawk or a falcon).

First I will re-join the cave living community. I currently do not know how busy we will be in the near future. One, two or even more months can pass, before I will buy a bird.

We will see.

If anyone see this blog post, then I hope that my happiness will make (or already made) your day better.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

Just bear in mind that you are taking away the little falcon's mum and that the mum is also very sad that her baby is being taken away. But it's probably the case that if you don't buy the little falcon, someone else will. But I don't think even the dearest person not can replace the mum and love the little one the way a mum does.

The predatory birds, if raised by a person, then they see the person literally as their mother at first, then later as their mate.

Was sick all the time :) But in the beginning they are separated and maybe that will always be hidden pain? But surely these birds of prey like endless freedom and need a huge territory?

I am glad that now you are better.

No. There is a proper time to separate the bird chick from their parents to make them imprinted on humans. The breeders know this. If the imprinting is done correctly, then the birds will see the humans as their parents, then later (when they become sexually mature) as their mates. They do not see their literal parents as their own parents. Not even as their own species. They are bonded with humans for life. They do not need a huge territory either. You can see many happy owls with people. There are many happy Harris's hawks too. Some people even travel with them on public transport. This is possible with properly socialised, tame birds.

Then these birds can no longer have young if they no longer know their own species 🤔? Don't they want to start their own family, do you think?

It depends. As I currently know, imprinted birds generally can have offspring with artificial insemination. Except most of the hybrid birds. They cannot have offspring at all. Not even in the nature. Most of them would not even exist in nature anyway. Except the barbary falcon, which can produce fertile hybrids even in the nature. But hybrids are usually bred by breeders, and they rarely found in nature.

Of course the breeders breed parent reared birds too. They can properly reproduce (can have offspring). Except most of the hybrid birds, as I wrote above. As I currently know, only the barbary falcon can produce fertile hybrids. Hybrid birds are a mix of at least two falcon species. Usually mixed by breeders. This rarely occurs in the nature.
