[ENG/ESP] When the day ends with the peace of mind that comes from a job well done
I wish you all a wonderful Thursday, filled with positive energy, serenity, and, above all, plenty of productivity. Today I want to share with you how another workday unfolded at the Ecoland Hotel, where we’ve been immersed for several weeks. It’s been an intense but also rewarding period, with results that fill us with satisfaction and motivate us to keep moving forward.
That day started early, as days often do when responsibility calls. We left home with the intention of picking up our friend Luis, who was feeling a bit too tired to ride his motorcycle. We wanted to accompany him and make sure the trip was comfortable for him. Despite his fatigue, his company always brings good cheer and pleasant conversation.
The weather was beautiful—one of those days that seem made for working without haste but with consistency. We took Simplicio Rodríguez Avenue, which, although not the shortest route, is certainly the most relaxing. The sea air you breathe there has something special about it; it clears the mind, refreshes the spirit, and makes the journey feel lighter. Plus, the scenery along the way is a feast for the eyes—a blend of sea, breeze, and light that’s always inspiring.

Hoy quiero compartirles cómo transcurrió otro día de trabajo en el hotel Ecoland, donde hemos estado inmersos durante varias semanas. Ha sido un período intenso, pero también gratificante, con resultados que nos llenan de satisfacción y nos motivan a seguir adelante.
Ese día comenzó temprano, como suelen empezar los días cuando la responsabilidad llama. Salimos de casa con el propósito de buscar a nuestro amigo Luis, quien se sentía un poco agotado para rodar en la moto. Queríamos acompañarlo y asegurarnos de que el trayecto fuera cómodo para él. A pesar del cansancio, su compañía siempre aporta buen ánimo y conversación agradable.
El clima estaba hermoso, de esos días que parecen hechos para trabajar sin prisa pero con constancia. Tomamos la avenida Simplicio Rodríguez, que aunque no es el camino más corto, sí es el más relajante. El aire marítimo que se respira allí tiene algo especial; limpia la mente, refresca el espíritu y hace que el viaje se sienta más ligero. Además, los paisajes que se aprecian en el recorrido son un regalo para los ojos, una mezcla de mar, brisa y luz que siempre inspira.
The day at the hotel didn’t look like it would present any complications. We just had to check the filter pressures and perform our routine chlorination of the main tank. Upon arrival, we headed straight to the desalination plant to check the pressures. We spent quite a while observing, waiting to see if they fluctuated or if everything was running smoothly. It’s a job that requires patience, attention, and experience, but once you know the system well, it also becomes almost intuitive.
La jornada en el hotel no prometía complicaciones. Solo debíamos revisar las presiones de los filtros y realizar nuestra rutina de cloración del tanque principal. Al llegar, nos dirigimos enseguida a la planta desalinizadora para verificar cómo estaban las presiones. Nos quedamos un buen rato observando, esperando ver si oscilaban o si todo marchaba debidamente. Es un trabajo que requiere paciencia, atención y experiencia, pero cuando uno conoce bien el sistema, también se vuelve casi intuitivo.
Fortunately, everything was within normal parameters. With that peace of mind, we moved on to the main tank to perform the necessary chlorination. When we measured the values, we confirmed that everything was properly adjusted. That feeling of completing each step, of seeing that the system responds as it should, always brings a quiet but deep sense of satisfaction.
Afortunadamente, todo estaba dentro de los parámetros normales. Con esa tranquilidad, pasamos al tanque principal para realizar la cloración correspondiente. Al medir los valores, comprobamos que todo estaba correctamente ajustado. Esa sensación de cumplir con cada paso, de ver que el sistema responde como debe, siempre deja una satisfacción silenciosa pero profunda.
With all the day’s tasks completed, we headed home. We had to stop by the house to change and then go visit my father. With so much work these days, we’ve barely been able to talk with him, and that’s something older adults need: companionship, attention, and words that remind them they’re still an essential part of our lives. A healthy old age is also built on a little affection.
Spending time with my father is always interesting and really good for him. We listen to his stories, laugh for a while, and share those kinds of moments that seem simple but are actually very necessary. After saying goodbye, we returned home to rest, because this Friday we have to go back to the hotel to continue monitoring the filters’ performance and checking the water in the tank.
Con todas las tareas del día completadas, nos retiramos. Debíamos pasar por casa para cambiarnos y luego ir a visitar a mi padre. En estos días de tanto trabajo, apenas hemos podido conversar con él, y eso es algo que los adultos mayores necesitan; compañía, atención, palabras que les recuerden que siguen siendo parte esencial de nuestra vida. Una vejez saludable también se construye con un poco de afecto.
Pasar tiempo con mi padre siempre es interesante y muy bueno para él. Escuchamos sus anécdotas, reímos un rato y compartimos ese tipo de momentos que parecen simples, pero que en realidad son muy necesarios. Después de despedirnos, regresamos a casa para descansar, porque este viernes debemos volver al hotel para continuar monitoreando el comportamiento de los filtros y chequeando el agua del tanque.
Our day wasn't difficult, but it was a bit hectic. Even so, it ended with the feeling that we'd accomplished something and struck a balance between work, family, and well-being.
