[ENG/ESP] When even a cloudy sky brightens the day
Happy Friday. The weekend is finally here, and to be honest, I’ve been needing this break for days. This week felt like it went on forever—as if there weren’t enough hours in the day and the tasks just kept piling up on their own. We’ve had a ton of work, and even so, there are still things left to do. Sometimes you feel like you’re running and running, but the day just doesn’t go far enough. That’s why, even though I don’t know if my weekend will be truly restful, I’ll try to make the most of every minute I can to breathe, relax, and recharge.
Yesterday we added a new client to our client list, something that always fills us with satisfaction because it means someone was so happy with our service that they decided to recommend us. That kind of trust is a gift and also a responsibility. So, early in the morning, we headed to the “Torre Margarita Suite” Hotel, located on Santiago Mariño Avenue in Porlamar, right here on Margarita Island.
It had been raining since very early on. In fact, we had to wait a while before leaving the house because the downpour wouldn’t let up. The clouds were so low they seemed to brush the hills, leaving barely a small space for the sun to try to peek through. And yet, at one point, the sun found a crack between the clouds and let a few rays fall that illuminated the hilltop. It was beautiful to see that sort of silent struggle between the light and the mist, as if the day were trying to decide what mood it was going to have.
Feliz viernes. Ya llegó por fin el fin de semana, y la verdad es que andaba necesitando este descanso desde hace días. Esta semana me ha parecido eterna, como si las horas no alcanzaran y las tareas se multiplicaran solas. Hemos tenido muchísimo trabajo y, aun así, todavía quedan cosas por hacer. A veces uno siente que corre y corre, pero el día simplemente no rinde. Por eso, aunque no sé si mi fin de semana será realmente descansado, intentaré aprovechar cada minuto que pueda para respirar, relajarme y recargar energías.
Ayer sumamos un nuevo cliente a nuestra lista de trabajo, algo que siempre nos llena de satisfacción porque significa que alguien quedó tan contento con nuestro servicio que decidió recomendarnos. Ese tipo de confianza es un regalo y también una responsabilidad. Así que, temprano en la mañana, nos dirigimos al Hotel “Torre Margarita Suite”, ubicado en la avenida Santiago Mariño, en Porlamar, aquí mismo en Isla de Margarita.
Desde muy temprano estaba lloviendo. De hecho, tuvimos que esperar un rato para poder salir de casa porque el aguacero no daba tregua. Las nubes estaban tan bajas que parecían rozar los cerros, dejando apenas un pequeño espacio para que el sol intentara asomarse. Y aun así, en un momento, el sol encontró una rendija entre las nubes y dejó caer unos rayos que iluminaron la cima del cerro. Fue hermoso ver esa especie de lucha silenciosa entre la luz y la neblina, como si el día quisiera decidir qué ánimo iba a tener.
We set off for the city. Although it had been rainy lately, the cityscape had a special glow. The wet streets reflected the colors of the buildings, and the contrast between the gray clouds and the city’s warm tones created a beautiful scene. Margarita has that magic; even in the rain, even under the clouds, she always finds a way to look beautiful.
Emprendimos camino hacia la ciudad. Aunque el clima ha estado lluvioso estos días, los paisajes urbanos tenían un brillo especial. Las calles mojadas reflejaban los colores de los edificios, y el contraste entre el gris de las nubes y los tonos cálidos de la ciudad creaba una escena muy bonita. Margarita tiene esa magia; incluso con lluvia, incluso con nubes, siempre encuentra una manera de verse hermosa.
When we arrived at the hotel, they were already waiting for us. They explained that they want to restore the entire place, breathe new life into it, modernize it, and make it spotless. But to achieve that, they need to start with the basics: clean, safe water that meets the standards of Corposalud and the Wyndham hotel—the very people who recommended us. That made us very happy, because it confirms that our work speaks for itself and that the dedication we put into every service really shows.
Al llegar al hotel ya nos estaban esperando. Nos explicaron que quieren restaurar todo el lugar, darle vida nuevamente, modernizarlo y dejarlo impecable. Pero para lograrlo, necesitan comenzar por lo esencial; un agua limpia, segura y que cumpla con los estándares de Corposalud y del hotel Wyndham, quienes fueron justamente quienes nos recomendaron. Eso nos alegró muchísimo, porque confirma que nuestro trabajo habla por nosotros y que la dedicación que ponemos en cada servicio realmente se nota.
We entered the tank area to conduct the inspection and necessary assessment in order to prepare a quote tailored to the complexity of the site. From the outside, the tank looked fine, but once inside, we discovered it had several internal chambers, which made the work more delicate and took us quite some time to check every detail. Even so, we took our time, as always, making sure not to overlook anything important.
Entramos al área del tanque para hacer la inspección y la evacuación correspondiente, con el fin de preparar un presupuesto ajustado a la complejidad del lugar. Desde afuera el tanque se veía muy bien, pero al entrar descubrimos que tenía varias cámaras internas, lo que hacía el trabajo más delicado y nos tomó bastante tiempo revisar cada detalle. Aun así, lo hicimos con calma, como siempre, asegurándonos de no pasar por alto nada importante.
When we were done, we headed back to put together the budget based on all our notes. It was almost 3:00 p.m., and our growling stomachs were a reminder that we’re only human. So we decided to stop by the Río Market. There, we had pizza and a malt for a snack—a simple but perfect combination to recharge after a busy day.
Al terminar, nos retiramos para poder elaborar el presupuesto con todas las anotaciones. Ya eran casi las tres de la tarde y el hambre nos estaba recordando que no somos de hierro. Así que decidimos pasar por el Mercado Río. Allí merendamos pizza y malta, una combinación sencilla pero perfecta para recuperar fuerzas después de una jornada intensa.
It was a tough day, yes, but also one of those days that leaves you feeling like the effort will be worth it. The cloudy weather added a special touch to everything, as if the island were wrapped in a soft veil that made every landscape seem more serene.
