I hope you all have a great Thursday—the weekend is just around the corner, and it looks like I’ll be able to fully relax. That feeling of having a couple of days off ahead always brings relief, as if my body and mind were getting ready to slow down and surrender to calm.
This week has been busy as usual, but at a more relaxed pace than last week, which has allowed me to end the week feeling less exhausted. That difference is very noticeable; when work piles up and the days seem endless, the fatigue shows in everything, even in your mood. On the other hand, when tasks are better spread out, you can breathe more easily and enjoy the little moments that come up throughout the day.
I’ll tell you how my day went—it started early, as usual. The weather has been glorious, with the sun shining in all its splendor, which has allowed me to capture excellent photos of the city and nature. The morning light is perfect for bringing out the colors of the buildings and the details of the landscapes. However, the heat has been a bit stifling—the kind that forces you to seek shade or cool off with cold water every so often.
Les deseo un excelente jueves, ya va faltando poco para el fin de semana y todo indica que lo podré descansar completamente. Esa sensación de tener un par de días libres por delante siempre trae alivio, como si el cuerpo y la mente se prepararan para soltar el ritmo y entregarse a la calma.
Esta semana hemos tenido trabajo como de costumbre, pero con un ritmo más calmado que el de la semana anterior, lo cual me ha permitido terminar menos agotada. Esa diferencia se siente mucho; cuando el trabajo se acumula y los días parecen interminables, el cansancio se refleja en todo, incluso en el ánimo. En cambio, cuando las tareas se distribuyen mejor, uno puede respirar con más tranquilidad y disfrutar de los pequeños momentos que se presentan en la jornada.
Les contaré cómo me fue este día, el cual comenzó temprano como de costumbre. El clima ha estado radiante, con un sol en todo su esplendor, lo que me ha permitido capturar excelentes fotos urbanas y naturales. La luz de la mañana es perfecta para resaltar los colores de los edificios y los detalles de los paisajes. Sin embargo, el calor ha sido un tanto sofocante, de esos que obligan a buscar sombra o a refrescarse con agua fría cada cierto tiempo.
Our schedule for today was pretty straightforward: deliver invoices and check in with two of our clients—the Sunsol Unik Hotel and the Parque Costa Azul shopping center—to see how things were going. Our first stop was at the Sunsol Unik Hotel, because the drop-off process there is always slower, and I prefer to do it first so it doesn’t get left pending. As usual, we had to wait in the payment area until we were attended to. That wait has become part of the routine, but I try to make the most of it by observing the activity around me, the lobby decor, and even the gestures of the people coming and going.
Nuestro recorrido de hoy era más bien sencillo; entregar facturas y verificar cómo marchaba todo con dos de nuestros clientes, el hotel Sunsol Unik y el centro comercial Parque Costa Azul. La primera parada fue en el hotel Sunsol Unik, porque allí el proceso de entrega siempre es más lento y prefiero hacerlo primero para no dejarlo pendiente. Como de costumbre, tuvimos que esperar en el área de pago hasta ser atendidos. Esa espera se ha vuelto parte de la rutina, pero trato de aprovecharla observando el movimiento del lugar, la decoración del lobby y hasta los gestos de las personas que van y vienen.
After taking care of that task, we headed to the Parque Costa Azul shopping center. We always try to combine both deliveries because it’s just a few meters away—you can even walk there. When we arrived at the accounting department, we were attended to quickly, since they have several people there handling the collection and processing of supplier invoices. That efficiency always makes me happy, because it allows me to leave early and continue with the rest of my day without any hitches.
Después de cumplir con esa gestión, nos dirigimos al centro comercial Parque Costa Azul. Siempre tratamos de combinar ambas entregas porque queda a pocos metros de distancia, incluso se puede ir caminando. Al llegar al departamento de contabilidad fuimos atendidos rápidamente, ya que allí tienen varias personas pendientes de recoger y gestionar las facturas de los proveedores. Esa eficiencia siempre me alegra, porque me permite salir pronto y continuar con el resto del día sin contratiempos.
Once we’d handed in the invoices, we didn’t have anything else left to do—but we were really hungry. We hadn’t brought lunch because we thought we’d be heading home earlier, but that didn’t work out. So we went up to the food court at the mall and decided to stop and enjoy some delicious chicken. That moment of sitting down to eat, after taking care of our obligations, feels like a reward. The simple flavor of the food serves as a reminder that everyday moments can also be special.
Una vez entregadas las facturas, ya no teníamos más pendientes, pero sí mucha hambre. No habíamos cargado almuerzo porque pensábamos regresar más temprano a casa, pero no pudo ser. Así que subimos al área de comida del centro comercial y decidimos parar a disfrutar de un delicioso pollo. Ese momento de sentarse a comer, después de cumplir con las obligaciones, se siente como un premio. El sabor sencillo de la comida se convierte en un recordatorio de que lo cotidiano también puede ser especial.
With everything taken care of and our stomachs full, we left the mall to head back home. The trip back always brings a mix of feelings: the satisfaction of having completed our tasks, the accumulated fatigue, and the anticipation of getting home to rest. There, we get ready for another day of work and tasks to be done, because the routine never stops, but it always leaves room for moments of calm.
That’s how my day went—between errands, the heat, taking photos, and an impromptu lunch that ended up being the best part of the day. Con todo cumplido y el estómago satisfecho, nos retiramos del centro comercial para tomar el camino de regreso a casa.
