[ENG/ESP] A Friday that led to the weekend break.
Happy Saturday, everyone! I hope you’re enjoying a well-deserved break and that this day is giving you exactly what you needed: calm, a moment to pause, and a little bit of everyday joy. Here at home, we also decided to take advantage of Saturday to get a head start on some chores, take care of whatever was left over from the week, and then go for a walk—but I’ll tell you about that walk in another post, because today I want to focus on how our Friday went, that last day of work that always feels different—lighter and more hopeful.
We woke up early, with that enthusiasm that only comes when you know the week is almost over. The weather surprised us: it was beautiful, clear, and crisp. It had rained in the early morning, and I think that rain was what made the sunrise look so radiant—as if the sky had decided to give us a little reward for our efforts over the past few days.
Feliz sábado para todos, espero que estén disfrutando de un merecido descanso y que este día les esté regalando justamente lo que necesitaban; calma, pausa y un poquito de alegría cotidiana. Aquí en casa también decidimos aprovechar el sábado para adelantar algunos quehaceres, organizar lo que quedó pendiente de la semana y luego salir a dar un paseo, pero ese paseo se los contaré en otra publicación, porque hoy quiero detenerme en cómo transcurrió nuestro viernes, ese último día de trabajo que siempre se siente distinto, más liviano y más esperanzador.
Nos levantamos temprano, con ese entusiasmo que solo aparece cuando sabes que ya estás a punto de cerrar la semana. El clima nos sorprendió: estaba hermoso, limpio, fresco. En la madrugada había llovido, y creo que esa lluvia fue la responsable de que el amanecer se viera tan radiante, como si el cielo hubiera decidido regalarnos un pequeño premio por el esfuerzo de los días anteriores.
Our schedule for the day was simple. We just had to stop by the Unik Hotel and then head to La Vela Mall to pick up a gift for our son’s friend, whose birthday is on Sunday. So we set out in high spirits, ready to get everything done without a hitch.
Nuestra rutina de trabajo era sencilla ese día. Solo debíamos atender el hotel Unik y luego pasar por el centro comercial La Vela para buscar un regalo para la amiga de nuestro hijo, que estará de cumpleaños el domingo. Así que salimos con buen ánimo, listos para cumplir con todo sin complicaciones.
When we arrived at the hotel, the maintenance staff welcomed us warmly, as always. We carried out our chlorination and disinfection routine carefully, step by step, making sure everything was in order. When we checked the readings, everything came out correctly, which gave us a sense of peace of mind and satisfaction. There’s no better feeling than knowing the job was done right and that the system is working as it should.
Al llegar al hotel, el personal de mantenimiento nos recibió con mucha cordialidad, como siempre. Realizamos nuestra rutina de cloración y desinfección con cuidado, paso por paso, asegurándonos de que todo quedara en orden. Al chequear los valores, todo dio correctamente, lo que nos llenó de tranquilidad y satisfacción. No hay mejor sensación que saber que el trabajo quedó bien hecho y que el sistema está funcionando como debe.
With the task completed and our hearts full of joy because everything had gone quickly and smoothly, we set off for La Vela shopping center. The journey was a treat in itself. The scenery was beautiful, nature in all its splendor, displaying intense colors and shapes that looked like something out of a painting. Between the natural and the urban, the road became a sort of silent companion that led us to our destination.
Con la tarea cumplida y el corazón contento porque todo transcurrió rápido y sin contratiempos, nos fuimos camino al centro comercial La Vela. El trayecto fue un regalo en sí mismo. Los paisajes estaban hermosos, la naturaleza en pleno esplendor, mostrando colores intensos y formas que parecían salidas de una pintura. Entre lo natural y lo urbano, el camino se convirtió en una especie de acompañante silencioso que nos llevó hasta nuestro destino.
At the mall, we set out to find the perfect gift for our son’s friend. We walked around, browsed stores, compared options, and enjoyed that little ritual that always goes along with looking for a gift: thinking about the person, imagining their reaction, and choosing something that conveys affection.
En el centro comercial nos dedicamos a buscar el regalo perfecto para la amiga de nuestro hijo. Caminamos, revisamos tiendas, comparamos opciones, y disfrutamos ese pequeño ritual que siempre acompaña la búsqueda de un obsequio; pensar en la persona, imaginar su reacción, elegir algo que transmita cariño.
After finding what we were looking for, we headed home to finally start our weekend break—that moment when you feel like you can breathe a little deeper and let go of the weight of the previous days.
