Birds in the sky at the Christmas lighting ceremony (Eng/Esp)

The arrival of December heralds the holiday season, but in the city of Caracas, Christmas decorations and lights have been up for over a month in the squares and main avenues.
A few days ago, I visited Caracas, my hometown, where my mother and sisters live, as I usually do every two weeks to help take care of her and, on this occasion, to celebrate her 90th birthday.
It was a family gathering where my mother blew out her birthday candle and was very happy with the children and grandchildren who were present. Those who could not attend sent messages via voice notes, calls, and video calls.
We enjoyed the gathering very much. We sang, danced, ate, and my mother looked very happy.

On Monday, I went to see a movie with my two sisters at the IPSFA Shopping Center, as we do when I visit them, and when we left the theater, it was six in the afternoon.
The Los Próceres promenade in front of the mall was decorated. Each tree had lights on its trunk and other Christmas decorations on both sides. There were quite a few people walking with their families, with their dogs, and some exercising.
We decided to walk to the central square of Los Próceres, hoping to see the lighting ceremony.
When the lights were turned on, the trees and decorations in the gardens lit up.
And at that moment, we saw a sight so beautiful that it overshadowed the long-awaited lighting ceremony.
Flocks of birds flew in from different places because it was time for their rest period. The macaws made the most noise with their squawking. These birds have adapted very well to the climatic conditions of Caracas, even though they originally come from the jungle in the south of the country.
I delighted in watching the sky in the last light of dawn, observing the flight of the birds and trying to photograph them. I managed to take some pictures, although they weren't very good because they were flying too fast and some were too high up.
Some began to settle on palm trees and other trees. I wondered how long the promenade would remain lit so that the birds could sleep and their rest would not be disturbed. Because they are like a biological clock. Very early in the morning, they fly back to where they came from.

We continued on our way to the bus stop. And from there to the neighborhood.
It was a very pleasant walk, not only because of what we saw, but also because I was able to share these moments of joy with my sisters.
La llegada del mes de Diciembre anuncia la época decembrina pero en la ciudad de Caracas los adornos y las luces navideñas ya se instalaron desde hace mas de un mes en las plazas y principales avenidas.
Hace unos dias fue de visita a Caracas, mi ciudad natal, donde viven mi madre y mis hermanas como acostumbro hacer cada quince dias para ayudar a cuidarla y en esta oportunidad para celebrar su cumpleaños número 90.
Fue una reunión familiar donde mi mamá apagó la velita de su cumpleaños y se sintió muy feliz con los hijos y nietos que estuvieron presentes y los que no, les enviaron mensajes por notas de voz, llamadas y video llamadas.
Disfrutamos mucho en la reunión. Cantamos, bailamos, comimos y mi madre se veía que muy feliz.
El día lunes fui a ver una película con mis dos hermanas en el Centro Comercial IPSFA como hacemos cuando las visito y al salir de la función eran las seis de la tarde.
El paseo Los Próceres que queda frente a este centro comercial, estaba adornado. Cada árbol con luces en su tronco y otros adornos navideños colocados a ambos lados. Había bastantes personas caminando en familia, con sus perros y algunos ejercitándose.
Decidimos caminar hacia la plaza central de los Próceres, esperando que realizaran el encendido.
Cuando se realizó el encendido de las luces, los árboles, y los adornos colocados en los jardines se iluminaron.
Y en ese momento vimos un espectáculo tan hermoso que opaco el esperado encendido. Bandadas de aves volaron desde diferentes lugares porque había llegado su hora de descanso. Las guacamayas eran las que hacían mayor alboroto con sus graznidos.. Estas aves se han adaptado muy bien a las condiciones climáticas de Caracas aún cuando su lugar de origen es la selva del sur del país.
Me deleite observando el cielo con la últimas luces del amanecer viendo el vuelo de las aves y tratando de fotografiarlas. Logre algunas fotografías aunque no muy buenas, porque pasaban muy rápido y algunas a mucha altura.
Algunas comenzaron a detenerse sobre las palmeras y otros árboles. Y pensé hasta que hora estaría iluminado el paseo para que las aves puedan dormir y no se altere su descanso. Porque ellas son un reloj biológico. Muy temprano en las mañanas vuelan de regreso al lugar de donde vinieron.
Seguimos caminando y aprovechamos de tomarnos unas fotografías, que aquí les muestro.
Continuamos nuestro camino para llegar a la parada del bus. Y de aqui hasta la urbanización.
Fue un paseo muy agradable no solo por lo que observamos sino también porque pude compartir con mis hermanas estos momentos de alegría.

Las guacamayas en Caracas son una belleza. Descolocan a cualquiera, y alegran la vida a quien haya tenido un mal día. A mi me encantaba verlas mientras hacía la cola del bus en el nuevo circo.
Que lindo que le celebraran el cumple a la abuela, y que salgan como hermanas a disfrutar un poco.
