| 🇫🇷 Les sons produits par les baleines à bosse sont émis dans des fréquences comprises entre quelques hertz (20Hz) et autour de 10khz. C'est donc une plage de fréquences audibles par l'Homme, ce qui n'est pas le cas pour d'autres cétacés. Cela tombe bien, puisque notre hydrophone possède cette bande passante et une fois relié à un amplificateur-enregistreur et à une enceinte, nous permet d'écouter les chants, de les enregistrer, et de les diffuser en direct pour nos clients. Les tests d'aujourd'hui ont été concluant et nous ont permis de déblayer pas mal de choses sur le plan technique et mise en place du système. Concernant les chants de cétacés, il n'y en avait pas aujourd'hui !!! Il ne reste plus qu'à attendre qu'une baleine cantatrice passe à quelques kilomètres de nous. Et oui, car les chants de baleines voyagent très bien sous l'eau et peuvent s'entendre à plusieurs kilomètres à la ronde. Il n'est donc pas nécessaire d'avoir une baleine sous le bateau pour pouvoir l'écouter. Il fait juste... qu'elle chante !!! On espère que cela va arriver très vite et pouvoir partager ces chants sur la plateforme. |
🇬🇧 The sounds produced by humpback whales are emitted in frequencies between a few hertz (20Hz) and around 10khz. It is therefore a range of frequencies audible by humans, which is not the case for other cetaceans. That’s good, since our hydrophone has this bandwidth and once connected to an amplifier-recorder and a speaker, allows us to listen to the songs, record them, and broadcast them live for our customers. Today’s tests were conclusive and allowed us to clear quite a few things from a technical and system implementation standpoint. Regarding the cetacean songs, there weren’t any today !!! All that remains is to wait for a singing whale to pass a few kilometers from us. And yes, because whale songs travel very well underwater and can be heard several kilometers away. It is therefore not necessary to have a whale under the boat to be able to listen to it. It is just... let her sing !!! We hope that this will happen very quickly and be able to share these songs on the platform. |

Marine life is incredible! Adaptations are always tailored to the ecosystem where they live. In water, noise travels faster than in air, which is why creating communication systems like "echolocation" is quite effective. Great post, my friend!
