A little spider, a great journey, and an impressive survival

Before I start, please allow me to state the following
No living soul was hurt during this videos and photo shooting session, promise

The story starts at my previous photography lesson. The teacher gave us a new assignment, to create photographs with one main theme. I looked at my latest photos, I did not like them as much so I went to search for new photo subjects.

At the road I found a few dandelions, and I cut 2-3 of them to take with me. Some of you may have noticed that I like taking photos of them.

(They look like wishes to me, and it feels good to see them travel)

I went to a point where I could see the sun set and my photo journey started.
I took a few photos and started taking a video ... when I noticed...

IMG_6978.jpeg

A small spider trying to stay on a dandelion fluff (searching for their name, I saw that they are called pappus - but it is the word for grandfather in Greek. These are actually seeds that can grow to new dandelions)

I watched it fall, but then I noticed that it had already created a web and believe it or not, a few seconds later it was on the rock :)

You can see the first video here: https://youtube.com/shorts/iAnKIHa3qxY

I have not posted yet the rest of the videos, if you think I should let me know!

The below two are some of the photos I took without understanding that there was a tiny spider hanging there.

So my question to you is ...
Is any of these photos good enough for the teacher's assignment?

IMG_6952.jpeg

I have recently realized that I do not think my photos are good enough, but this will not stop me from capturing what I see in our world.

My point of view has changed a lot, and as the time goes by, I realize that some photo-views that I want, are really hard (or impossible perhaps) to take on my phone.

Sometimes I even miss my old phone, some images at certain conditions were taken much easier and better (so it may come back on the field soon)

I am posting some more of my todays images. The sunset was impressive.

IMG_6965.jpegIMG_6966.jpeg

The right photo has been edited a bit, to have more vivid colors. I am not so sure that I like it - but I think it fits nicely next to the sun setting here.

IMG_6967.jpeg

Some other close ups, as I was trying to get my phone camera these little floating things that were resting on the rock.

IMG_6969.jpeg

And then there was this cloud, that was dissolving and leading to a half moon (not sure if you can see it on the photography)

IMG_6970.jpeg

Here you see two dandelion fluffs an the half moon (but it seems full in the photo, not sure why)

IMG_6973.jpeg

A similar photo like the previous one.

IMG_6971.jpegIMG_6948.jpeg

I tried to frame the moon earlier, but the result did not look so nice as I had in my mind.

IMG_6946.jpeg

A little walk next to the sea is always soul soothing.
I had 15 minutes free until my next call, so I went over to try the photos of anything interesting I would see in the water.

IMG_6944.jpegIMG_6945.jpeg

I saw some snails and some reflections

IMG_6935.jpeg

Tried to make the snail come out, but it hid so I let it again in the water.

Photos of earlier clouds, these are the kinds I like the more!

IMG_6929.jpegIMG_6928.jpeg

I hope you enjoyed todays photo-ride and if you thought any of these photos would be good to be sent as a photo-assignment, let me know below!

I got until Friday to decide :)

Thanks, take care!!

Edit:

Taxaracum officinale is the official name of dandelions.
When I see them, I know that it is spring time and I am always very happy!

What many people do not know is that dandelions are one of the most vital early spring nectar sources for a wide host of pollinators. You can watch them closely and you will see all kind of insects coming by to taste the sweet pollen.

They are also edible, all of their parts. I have never actually tried them, but I think that this is something to try out at least once :) Have you known about this?

You can read more about them at the following links:

Thank you!
It has to do with the community (the muted post I mean) - first time it happened to me, I will investigate and make a post about it tomorrow!

Hi, no one automatically muted you because you're not a member! You've already been unmuted and given a membership!/ By the way, you can add some bibliography or references about dandelions or spiders! Something to learn about them, since we're not a photo community. We'll gladly vote for it!

Haha, the spider seems to have learned that riding a dandelion is a free ride xD
