[Eng/Esp] Coloring Pikachu with Gouache/ Coloreando Pikachu con Témpera

Greetings friends of the community. This time I bring you a brief tutorial on how to make a drawing of Pikachu on a piece of cardboard to be painted with Gouache. So without further ado let's get started.

Saludos amigos de la comunidad. Esta vez les traigo un breve tutorial sobre cómo elaborar un dibujo de Pikachu sobre un trozo de cartón al ser pintado con Témpera. Así que sin más rodeos empecemos.

To begin with we select our piece of cardboard, which can be taken from a box. And to cut it to the right size we can use a cutter.

Para empezar seleccionamos nuestro trozo de cartón, el cual puede ser extraído de una caja. Y para recortarlo al tamaño convenido podemos usar un cutter.

Then we create a sketch of the character on a piece of paper; and on the opposite side we mark the whole page with graphite using a HB 2 pencil, this in order to create a copy on the cardboard.

Ya después creamos un boceto del personaje en un papel; y en la parte contraria marcamos toda la página con grafito al usar un lápiz HB 2, esto con el fin de crear una copia en el cartón.

As I said before we create the copy of the sketch by marking the lines on top of it on the cardboard.

Tal como dije anteriormente creamos la copia del boceto al remarcar las líneas encima en el cartón.

Now we mark the lines again with black paint.

Ahora volvemos a marcar las líneas con pintura de color negro.

We apply color in their respective areas; such as yellow for the body; red on the cheeks and tail; black and white on the eyes.

Aplicamos color en sus respectivas áreas; como son amarillo para el cuerpo; rojo en las mejillas y la cola; negro y blanco en los ojos.

It must be said that I could not create shadow effects because I ran out of yellow, a necessary color to create the mixture with others to obtain brown. This also made Pikachu's body look not so sharp.

Cabe decir que no pude crear efectos de sombras porque se me acabo el amarillo, un color necesario para crear la mezcla con otros y así obtener marrón. Esto también produjo que no se viera tan nítido el cuerpo de Pikachu.
