Weekend at the Italian shore

It was the middle of a sunny and warm August this year. We decided to take a short getaway to the nearby Italian coast, somewhere on the way to Venice. This wild campsite or overnight-friendly car park is about 3 hours from home. We already knew the place, the surroundings and the beach well, having spent a week here last summer.

The beach is a protected area because it has special flora and fauna. It is not recommended to visit during certain months, as the sandy beach is a birthplace for new baby snakes.

Despite the high number of visitors, large Italian families who bring parasols and cool boxes to the beach with the help of a special trolley, the beach is free of litter and waste. A handful of African descendants wander the beach, spending their day under the scorching sun in a bid to sell beautiful scarves and bracelets.

The best parts of camping by the sea are definitely the sunrises and sunsets. The beach is quiet, and you may only see the persistent fishermen and the big crab harvesters, who, due to the low tide, have no sea to hide. The sun colors the sky in yellows, oranges and pinks. At one point, however, the sun is also just bright red and huge!

We would have shared all the summer stories with you before, but the days were so beautiful and full of interesting activities that the rainy autumn seemed the perfect time to write down our summer adventures.
