This weekend searching on Hive I came across the proposals of this community and I loved it, I decided to choose:

What is freedom for me?

A very controversial topic and with many different angles to give an opinion. Let's be clear that I am from Cuba and all my life I have been tied to a system where there are no freedoms of any kind. So I will do my best.

Let's start with freedom of expression. Who doesn't yearn to be able to say, shout or debate their point of view, whether it is wrong or not. It is your personal opinion and you have to respect it. When we are young, as a rule we want to change things, we are rebels. I tell you, when I was a kid my parents didn't want me to get a tattoo, they told me that it was something for grown-ups and that it looked bad. What did I do? I waited until I got my first salary at the age of 18 and I showed up with my skin marked. It's my life, I lead it and I organize it as I want and how I understand. I feel sorry for them. In that week they wanted to kill me, until they got used to the idea that they couldn't do anything, but that's another story.

Until less than 10 years ago, the Internet was forbidden in my country. As I was involved in the IT field, I could not understand how I could not have access to something so great. The solution I found was to pay for it on the black market to be able to access it and all the information I needed, unfortunately I suffered from freedom of access to information.

Finally, in order not to make this post too long, I think that concrete and direct things are better than drooling and making a redundant topic. I am talking about the right to make decisions. As I said before, the life of each of us is ours, we have to make mistakes to learn and with that experience we can make better decisions, but they do not have to make these decisions for us ever. Linked to this issue we have the right to participate in activities and events, even if our opinion is different. Why veto this right? There are many who are afraid of the words or actions of certain people and simply think that the best option is that if the person does not attend, they have no problems, they end up cutting off the freedom to go.

There are many examples of freedom that we can express. My advice is to be you, make mistakes, give your opinion, participate and live with what makes you happiest.
