Weather Dictates Weekend

First Weekend August

Friday officially done and dusted, normal day simply doing chores around the home always watch the sunset thinking of day that has been done.

Vervet Monkey on midday walk about, test tasting Golden Shower, 'Smile you on Candid Camera'

No great moves or shakes to speak of really, simply starting to collate what needs to be prepared for the taxman, something I would rather shelve than think about!

Watched Bad Boys before turning it in, I do enjoy a good laugh that Lawrence and Smith bring to the screen, take your mind off everything....

IMG_8211.JPG

Pecking order around four in the afternoon on telephone cables, something similar to the Bad Boys routine

Saturday decision, get moving not too early around midday to take Woody to the park for his walk, Sunday has been promised to be a scorching 36C.

IMG_8222.JPG

Sports fields where we normally walk had cross country cycling event, nowhere to park. Went across to Library and Civic Center to enjoy

IMG_8249.JPG

Solid hour and a half then Woody is kaput, enough walking till we get going again.... Along the water a great meeting of birds.

Perhaps this Indaba was called. Why humans have become confused about male and female genders

If you know me I am hiding under the 'aircon' so here goes this weekend. Yes it reached 36C today with wind, at least the humidity down at only 25% which is unusually dry for us here.

IMG_8212.JPG

Sunbird tapped on my window then sat on outdoor unit of aircon, as if to say 'it's shit out here, let me in around midday!'

Monday morning will back to repairing the home early to rise with maximum temperature forecast at 20C. Yes I watch the weather like a hawk whilst painting the home, it's the best time of the year with little rain forecast (actually none)!

Back to the walk, we did have a laugh at the Plovers strutting about, cheeky bugger dive bombed over us in indignation at being disturbed.

We try get out of the garden to the park for a longer walk on weekends. Beach still questionable, either way it's a pleasure taking a break.

Monkeys and birds always keep one happy and smiling, wishing you a lovely week Wanda.

Lovely photos Joan!
Don't even talk about the taxman, hubby's 2023 is done, had to wait for executorship, but the final one is going to be another story!
What's with the weather and these weird strong hot winds here? Out with the woolies again tomorrow!
Have a wonderful Sunday Joan, and enjoy the home maintenance, always nice to see the changes, and such a bonus when you have such a good DIY man. Bonginkosi's also been making use of the extra time now that everything is growing slower, and started painting and sprucing up neglected areas.

Always dread doing taxes at this time of year, something I used to complete without a problem now it's a nightmare!

Weather really tipped upside down today, so glad I take note of weather and we switched to a day earlier.

Vusi is a pleasure to work with we have recommended him to others as once the major work is done I will keep him once a week. He has permanent work on Fridays at a retirement community close to here on a Friday, Saturday he works with the person who recommended him to me. There comes a point you simply cannot do what you used to on your own, you were fortunate Bonginkosi spent time with your husband to have a real feel of how to complete tasks.

Take care, wishing you a lovely week ahead.

Good morning dear friend @joanstewart how are you?
The weather is a topic of conversation, it is becoming more and more extreme, in my city we are in the middle of winter and it is as hot as summer.

I am glad that you were able to go out for a walk and take these beautiful photographs

The tax declaration must be a stressful task without a doubt

I appreciate that you let us know these beautiful photographs
Have a happy and prosperous week

More tax laws or changes each year one finds it difficult to keep up with them, will have to be done!

Going out with Woody yesterday was a treat, this park was quiet with one family quietly having a picnic where we avoided, for the rest it was us and the birds.

Thanks for visiting, hope your health is stable for now and you have yourself a wonderful week ahead.

Wow! This is a whole lot of fun. All the pictures are so beautiful and speaks of nature. In my country rain has ceased too which is so unlike August, this has started since July, it's hot as if we are in harmattan.

Harmattan here today it has been one of those really crazy odd days to hit of late. We need some rain it is extremely dry on our side of the country, the Western side has had too much rain, although it is their wet season.

Oh! I hope it rains soon because it's affecting plants. The weather is so unstable

Amazing nature scenes, I cannot believe it was that hot! I can sympathise with the little sun bird. Incredibly hot, and here in the Cape we suffer from extreme cold temperatures! Luckily, I am visiting the now-fiance and Pretoria itself is nice and hot already.

Cape has had extremely cold wet winter this year, no rain on our side it is turning into a very dry winter. My sister in Jo'burg mentioned they have not reached normal cold they should experience, also wishes to see rain up there.

Here in Pretoria things are extremely dry. Not sure if this is normal as mostly summer rains here, but it feels very dry. Been here three winters now I think and this one even my skin is dry. Not sure if normal weather here.

Grew up on the highveld never enjoyed the dry winters, don't enjoy heat/humidity of summer here...

Heat and humidity are really a killer combination. I can only imagine how bad it gets there. Luckily in the cape, summers are more dry and not too humid, but winters are somewhat harsh with the cold winds and rains.

If I were in the Cape now I would be heading to see the flowers something I would love to witness once in a lifetime.

I might be able to go there in September. I think it is still flowering time/period. Hopefully see some of them.

We are having the same weather this week. It feels like 36C and there is barely a breeze. I personally like it but the other Canadians wish it would end.

I am amazed that you can just go for a stroll and see monkeys and those beauty birds. Just wow!

We have monkeys pass through regularly, they are cute and naughty sometimes, birds always around which is a pleasure as well.

Hot weather best to stay in the shade or indoors, today we are back to 19C which is around our normal for winter.

Martin Lawrence is my favorite, he naturally a funny guy. I wonder if he is still acting. You should watch the one where he was a Knight, can't recall the name of the movie and that's me I am bad at remembering movie names.

"Kaput" that's me over here most of the time 😫
