A wonderful feeling... (in the water)

We are already in October, we all notice it, we set ourselves new goals, the days go by and they are getting shorter, the air is getting cooler, we can also feel it on our skin. We look at the sky, we are in autumn, but that sensation of dimmer light and dry leaves falling has not yet arrived, the sky is still blue, in fact today it is a perfect intense blue.

Animated by that wonderful blue, that sunlight that still warms, it warms up a lot in fact, more than expected, but the warm sensation is mitigated by the wind that makes us feel great. The temperature then is ideal.

Ideal for what? Well, to return, on the first Sunday of October, to the beach, there is still time, that sun must be enjoyed. Normally I share these beach and sea photos like this a lot, but more during the previous summer months, later also even on winter days and with clouds, but they are different.

These last few times, every time I go to the sea I think it will be the last time, they announce rains and less temperature but in the end our sun resists, and gives us a wonderful day. More wonderful than during the too hot summer days. So we go once again to the beach, with confused ideas about whether we will swim or not, because the water will undoubtedly be colder, but the day is spectacular.

Everything is blue, the sky and the sea, everything is calm, there are very few people and it is very quiet. The breeze ruffles our hair, caresses us and cools us just enough. Everything is to our liking.

And we cannot avoid it… there is the immense sea, that wonderful water. Because water is life, and we enter it with a certain parsimony. Feet first, what a feeling!

Yes it is colder than before but we can't leave without trying. We continue inside, looking at the horizon, fearing that a wave will wet us more than expected, but everything is calm, the sea itself encourages us, invites us to swim. Little by little we are acclimatised, to finally realize that it is not so cold, it is a healthy cool. The sea is health.

And this sea is perfect today, transparent, we can see our feet, legs, and also we can see everything that settles on the sandy bottom. And suddenly, we dive abruptly, after counting to three, our head clears, our muscles are toned in an incredible way, and we open our eyes, yes underwater. It is wonderful.

Everything is wonderful, we let ourselves go and start floating, swimming, spinning, feeling the wind, it's not strong but it's cold, especially when you have to go out... it doesn't make you want to go out, but to continue submerging without stopping. Words, nouns and adjectives are insufficient for that sensation of freshness, fullness, tranquility... in an almost deserted sea (oxymoron?) because few of those who had decided to take the plunge into the water there. Good thing I did.

But we had to go outside, fingers wrinkle, and then we feel cold, we run to lie down and feel every drop and every warm ray of sun. A perfect combination again, I relax and recharge. This time that heat is greatly appreciated, that powerful sun that crowns the sky, the perfect blue vault that we have above, and looking at it from the sand face up...

I can say little more on a totally unexpected Sunday, of change of plans, of adaptation to the beautiful day. A day in the present, living in the here and now, and in the water, with a wonderful feeling.
