A symmetry
Hello everyone, as many of you already know I work in a kindergarten with 4 and 5 year olds. In a previous post I showed you the symmetry they made of a snowman and they liked it so much that they asked me to do the symmetry more often and so today I asked them to do the symmetry of a penguin
It's funny how fast they learn. I explained it to them once and when I asked them what symmetry was they answered very well
As you can see in the pictures for some it is still super difficult. Some 4-year-olds do better than 5-year-olds. But it's normal for each child to learn at their own pace. And it also depends a lot on whether the parents do work with them at home.
Many times there are those who doubt that it is possible to work with mathematical concepts in Early Childhood Education. Just follow our activity to realize that in addition to reaching the expected expectations, the children understand the theme and show beautiful results.
Working with symmetry gives students the opportunity to develop observation, perception of similarities and differences between figures. Not to mention that symmetry can be easily observed in nature and in works of art, among other elements of everyday life.
When they do this type of work they are super proud of the result and they come right away to show me and ask to take pictures 😂 they are already so used to me asking to take it and now they are the ones who ask
Symmetry is indicated to assist in the development of spatial skills and in the perception of position and shape of the image. Such skills are important for the development of reading and writing, including the teaching of numerals.
I'm already going to have to do more of these jobs because they asked for more 😂
At the end I put some of their work on the board in our room so they can always remember the subject we are teaching. I always post different works by different students, because if it's not always the works of the same students
I hope you liked it, see you soon friends 😀
Dear @name0 !
Children's potential seems to be superior to our imagination!
