Just the two of us: There's nothing better for the soul than Pizza!

This autumn, let me tell you, has been complicated.... Extremely rainy, with lots of power outages and delays in public transport. Quite simply, it has been a rather chaotic month, with few real highlights... Few, that's for sure, but by no means non-existent... This is where the light of my eye comes in, the doll of my life, and the reason why every morning I find a little more strength to carry on: and yes, who else but my little daughter? Seeing her smile and be happy goes straight to the heart, like pizza....

And yes, this post is about what a simple pizza and just the innocent and fun company of your daughter can do to a mother's mood. Sometimes, we forget that we were children too, and that we used to experience the days and months in a slower way than we do growing up (where the exact opposite happens). However, my anchor to land will always be my little girl. A girl who, with genuine interest, asks me ‘how was work, mommy’; every day, even when my answer may be repetitive. She is always there.

As a person who tends to live for and because of her. I get that a lot.... I realise that being like that is not necessarily a bad thing, but I tend to be defensive about anything to do with the relationship between me and my baby.... She's my only child, and I guess I apply that old axiom of being a ‘first time mother’. But from my perspective, that's not something I have to be ashamed of or feel any discomfort about? I try to raise my daughter the best way I can. With values and responsibilities, and in retrospect, there are undeniably more benefits I've received from her than things I've been disappointed in.

Honestly, I just feel a tremendous pride in my chest. And from the time she was a baby walking everywhere, I taught her the value of companionship and our mother-daughter relationship. Sometimes it will be an outing to a restaurant to eat delicious food, sometimes it will be going to the park and sweating and running until our hides can't take any more fun; sometimes it will be going to the movies or to fun and educational places like an aquarium/zoo, etc. The bottom line is that the value that cements our relationship is genuine love and interest in wanting to be together; come on, to keep each other company and be there for each other. She, knowing that she can count on her mummy, and me with the reward of coming home to find my greatest treasure, which is her.

And the pizzas, isn't that what the post was about? Well, yes, hahaha. But when a mother starts talking about her kids, she rarely knows when to stop. And since in this community, we love the concept of parenthood, what better place to break down what you have inside you every day of the world, than here, don't you think? Anyway, there's not much to say that you can't guess from what you see in the pictures. Clearly, we were very happy to have pizza for dinner. It doesn't matter if we got wet on the way home from the pizzeria, the important thing is that our bellies were full when we got home, together, happy and with yet another memory to share.

Don't ever forget that loving your children and being there for them comes down to memories. Memories that will be our only and most lasting legacy. And I don't know if we, as mums and dads, are really aware of the importance of building memories together. Experiences that will be with them far beyond our time in the sun. So, of course going out for those pizzas for dinner was absolutely delicious and worth every second spent, but it's also important to know that nothing would make sense if it wasn't about being with my daughter. It is her and our symbiosis that makes something ordinary, extraordinary.
