Baguio Bliss: Our Family Return to the City of Pines (Part 1)
Hello Worldmappin fam! π It's me again @wanderelle! βΊοΈ I'm super excited to share a brand new travel story with you all, one that's a bit of a throwback and a fresh start all at once. Hope you'll enjoy it! β¨
Remember when you were little, and certain places just felt magical? For my family, my mother, sister, cousins, and me: Baguio was one of those spots. We hadn't been back in ages, not since we were kids, so a recent weekend vacation to the Summer Capital of the Philippines felt like a much-needed return home, in a way. This trip was all about unwinding, catching up, and just soaking in that Baguio vibe we'd missed so much.
For 4 days, we stayed in Albergo Hotel. It was our cozy base for exploring, and what I loved right away was just how close it was to some interesting spots. Even just from the top floor of Albergo Hotel, you could get some cool views. Itβs always fun to see the city from a different perspective, especially when you're surrounded by that signature Baguio chill.
Right around our area, we spotted Volante Restaurant nearby, but we didnβt eat there. We also walked past so many transient houses and places like RedDoorz. It was fascinating to see how they were built, all those houses piled up high on the slopes. You know, you really appreciate the architecture and how they make use of the terrain here.
The weather? Oh my gosh, it was perfectly cold, which was exactly what we were craving. That crisp, cool air instantly made me forget all the stress from the city. It's like Baguio has this special way of just melting all your worries away, leaving you feeling totally relaxed.
One of the places we explored just a short walk away was Wright Park. The highlight there for us was definitely those famous 150 steps stairs. Walking down them, surrounded by the pine trees, was such a nice experience. You could just feel the calm. It was beautiful to see how those structures were built and how they fit right into the natural landscape.
My cousins have busy work schedules, so we just grabbed the opportunity to spend our vacation here on a weekend. Of course, many people will take this opportunity to take a break as well. A few days of stay is not sufficient, especially when there are lots of tourists, since you'll experience traffic and will take quite some time to go to places you want to visit.
This first part of our trip was all about settling in, enjoying the cool weather, and rediscovering the charm of the areas near our hotel. It felt so good to just walk around, breathe in the fresh, cold air, and feel that stress lift off our shoulders.
Thank you very much for reading my post π Hope you enjoyed it! β¨
See you again for Part 2 of our Baguio adventure! π«Ά
