Aventura fascinante en el Museo del Mar: Sala de Barcos y de Buceo [ Esp-Eng]

Continuando mi recorrido por el Museo Marítimo, hoy les comparto mi visita a la sala de barcos. Allí se pueden apreciar varias maquetas, incluyendo la escuela naval Simón Bolívar, muy conocida en el país por los diversos viajes que ha realizado para la formación de nuevos cadetes. Esto les ha permitido experimentar diferentes mares y las actividades y el entrenamiento necesarios para la vida de un marinero. Este espacio está decorado con todo tipo de elementos marítimos: anclas, timones y numerosos barcos que hacen referencia a importantes acontecimientos históricos. Uno de los que más me llamó la atención fue la Kon-Tiki, una de las primeras balsas construidas por el ser humano para viajar a diferentes lugares. La balsa se exhibe dentro de una botella de vidrio y, como la mayoría de los objetos del museo, está protegida para su conservación y longevidad.
También podemos ver un buque oceanográfico; es blanco y lleva el logotipo de la Universidad de Oriente. A continuación, se presenta el buque oceanográfico Guaiquerí 1. Según la descripción de su ficha técnica, inició sus operaciones en 1902, recorriendo diversas zonas acuáticas entre Cumaná y Carúpano. La principal actividad de estos buques es realizar exploraciones en aguas marítimas, estudiando las especies marinas, el lecho marino y la famosa Fosa de Cariaco, ubicada en esta zona del país.

Continuing my tour of the Maritime Museum, today I'm sharing my visit to the ship hall. There you can see several ship models, including the Simón Bolívar training ship, well-known in the country for the various voyages it has undertaken to train new cadets. This has allowed them to experience different seas and the activities and training required for the life of a sailor. This space is decorated with all sorts of maritime elements: anchors, helms, and many ships that reference important events in history. One of the ones that caught my attention the most was the Kon-Tiki, one of the first rafts built by humans to travel to different places. The raft is displayed inside a glass bottle and, like most of the items in the museum, is protected for its preservation and longevity.
We also see an oceanographic vessel; it is white and bears the logo of the University of Oriente. Next is an oceanographic vessel named Walkery 1. According to the description on the data sheet, it began operations in 1902, traveling through different aquatic areas between Cumaná and Carúpano. The main activity of these ships is to carry out explorations in maritime waters, learning about marine species, the seabed, and the famous Cariaco Trench located in this area of the country.
Continuando el recorrido, vemos otro barco, blanco con detalles burdeos, más grande que los anteriores. Un hermoso faro ilumina la sala con su luz tenue. Alrededor, hay zonas pintadas de negro que crean un llamativo contraste con la luz del faro. También se encuentra un timón de madera y otro más pequeño debajo, a la derecha de la entrada.
El suelo es de baldosas de cerámica blanca. Tenemos una vista parcial de la sala y de los diferentes barcos que se encuentran en ella. Continuing along the tour, we see another ship, white with burgundy accents, larger than the previous ones. There's a beautiful lighthouse whose soft light illuminates this room. Around the room are areas painted black, creating a striking contrast with the light from this eye-catching lighthouse. There's also a wooden wheel and another smaller one located beneath it at the entrance on the right.
The floor is white ceramic tile. We have a partial view of the room and the different ships located there. We can see the Kon-Tiki raft, the lighthouse in the background, and the display tables on either side. Another very striking ship is the one known as Christopher Columbus's caravel. According to the information sheet, at the end of the 15th century, the Spanish monarchs supported the navigator Christopher Columbus on his voyage to reach the countries of East Asia. He embarked in three caravels: the Pinta, the Niña, and the Santa María, discovering a new territory in America. This is one of the most eye-catching because of the shape of the sails and the red crosses that each one bears, representing the Spanish crown of the colonial era. Next, we have some posters that show the art of fishing. These are located in the diving room, where, in addition to reading important information about the different types of fishing.
Aquí tendrán la oportunidad de ver el traje de buceo, conocido como casco de buceo, así como información sobre el buceo y cómo su vestimenta ha evolucionado hasta nuestros días. Here you have the opportunity to see the diving suit known as a diving helmet, as well as information about diving and how its attire has evolved to the present day. The room also features a small yellow submarine mounted on pedestals. The room is decorated with fish, sharks, fishing nets, seaweed, coral, and other marine fauna and plants.
In the center of the room, there is a white model ship, interactive tables, a man at work fishing, and a fishing net. It's the first time I've seen this fishing tool, and its shape caught my attention. According to the information sheet, it's lowered into the water and has a hole in the center through which fish can enter but cannot escape because it automatically closes, preventing their escape.
