Let's explore the Grand Souq (traditional market) and take a ride on the Abra (traditional boat) in Bur Dubai
Hello travelers
In today's blog I wish we could go together to the most chaotic place on earth, for sure we have to visit a traditional souq here in a neighborhood in Dubai, these people are sensational.
In addition to this traditional market we will do another activity (you already know what because it's already written in the title of the blog) and that is a boat trip on the Creek (the river that separates Bur Dubai from Deira).
I want to make it clear at the outset not to confuse the Grand Souq with the Grand Bazaar where we find the spice market and the gold market, and if you think of these two in another blog I will take you to all these places.
But let's get back to the Grand Souq.
From Dubai Marina (that's where we had our accommodation) and here in Bur Dubai we came by metro and then we took a walk, I am so fascinated by the culture here and the people, the contrast is so strong that at a moment you think you have changed country (from skyscrapers to simple buildings without too many floors), do not worry we are still in Dubai.
After a few minutes walk we arrived at the entrance of the Grand Souq, my god it's so crazy pleasant here that I never left, I took a few steps and already the vendors want to sell me something each, or they want to give me to taste or smell different flavors.
I considered it appropriate not to put too many pictures of the inside of the market, I leave it up to you to go and discover it (I don't want to create confusion with the other two markets in Deira), but still at least a few to help you or convince you to go here.
I know, maybe for some people who visit Dubai and who live in the center visiting this area can be complicated, you have to change several subways and the whole trip takes maybe more than an hour each way, there is also the careem option (taxi, uber) but it is quite expensive.
I'll give you a tip, if you are looking or better said anything you want to buy in Dubai here is the perfect place, the prices are lower than in other places, from here I bought a lot of things, from souvenirs to gifts and even perfume essences (I know you are thinking about the big perfume brands, you can't find those here, here you can find something much better, I tried on my skin a perfume from here and the smell passed after two days even if I took a bath).
If you have room in your hold luggage, you will definitely fill it with something from here, there are so many quality clothing items, teas, flavor therapy, spices, so good luck shopping.
We got here quite late so we didn't have as much time as I wanted, especially since I wanted to see the sunset from the creek.
So we leave Grand Souq behind and head to Dubai Creek, from here you can take those Abra (traditional boats) and you can cross from one bank to the other.
And yes, here we are about to get our first scam in Dubai (I thought such practices don't happen here), we got to the area where we saw the boats leaving and wanted to get on one of them, but what do you know, we were greeted by a gentleman who told us that we had to pay to use the Abra.
As I had done my homework at home I knew how much a ticket costs, normally a ticket costs 2dirhami (a very small amount, somewhere around 0,50$), while that gentleman asked me for a 20 US dollars pass, I couldn't help myself and told him that it was not normal to ask that amount, a pass is much cheaper, look even so some of the tourists decided to follow me in search of the traditional boat but at the right price while many chose to pay that exaggerated amount.
And you know what, we walked along the creek for 100 meters maximum and surprise surprise surprise we found the Abra, and in the following I will let you see what experience I had using this traditional boat, but at a fair price.
I was very glad that we managed to catch the sunset here on the Creek, the feeling is ... I can't describe in words the feelings that you get being in this place.
My dear my today's blog has come to an end, I hope Grand Souq and the abra ride have been enjoyable.
THE END!

The architecture and shape of the market is incredible. The way each of the products are placed is interesting. Everything is orderly and looks too aesthetically pleasing.
I like it. It is an amazing place.
I am very glad you liked this place and our experience in Bur Dubai, personally I like these places more than the central areas of Dubai.

Wow! As I reviewed your article and saw the photos, my impression changed from "impressive" to "amazing." "Most chaotic place," "spice market," "gold market," and unusual perfume—these are the expressions that caught my attention. Thank you for allowing us to travel with you via blogging!

That was a wonderful experience! The traditional boat sounds very interesting. But here's the thing, what truly excites me is when you mentioned the perfume that lasts for two days even after you've showered, that's so amazing!
Truly, our experience in the souq as well as the Abra (traditional boat) ride was an amazing experience.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.
its a quite impressive as you mention the perfume last about for 2 days until you finished your shower the smell of the perfume is still there , its totally unbelievable , keep on sharing beautiful photos .
Indeed, our experience with scented essences has been amazing and, yes, these fragrances linger for a very long time.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

There are so many tourist attractions here in Dubai. I hope you can visit some of them😊 Have a great weekend too!
I have already visited several sights that I will blog about😉
Nice to hear😊 that you had explored some of it! Great!!!
The next blog will also come from here in Dubai😉
I'm looking forward on your next blog. Have a nice day 😀
😉
I hope to be there someday. Dubai is one of the most beautiful asian country.
I wish you good luck in being able to visit Dubai, you know what, you just have to believe in your dream and it will surely come true😉
Yeah for sure, someday when i became a millionaire lol
From my own experience I can tell you that you don't have to be a millionaire to visit Dubai, there are much cheaper options.
I guess so but i guess visiting dubai needs a lot of money so i can buy some things there to bring in Philippines lol
I don't know what the rules are for the Philippines but we bought a lot of stuff in Dubai (we had a 23kg hold bag full of shopping) and all of that was included in the airfare.
And for me it is very expensive to get from Romania to the Philippines, to have such options on segments with very long stopovers, but if I want to get through the Philippines I would surely find a way even if it would take me three days.
Ah ok i see , well who knows maybe someday i could visit
😉
