Adventure and fun on the forbidden island of Sazan-Karaburun in Albania, a patch of land in the middle of the Adriatic Sea part. I

Hello travellers from around the world
I hope you are well, and I wish you all a wonderful week with your loved ones and wish you to achieve all your goals including discovering amazing places.
Today I want to relive those amazing moments I spent last summer on holiday in Albania, and yes, I want to remember them myself and show them to you step by step, so the places I want to show you I decided to divide them into two posts because it would be a shame not to share with you as many pictures as possible and maybe give you some ideas for future places to visit.
One of our favorite places for the beach was in Vlore resort, here we could find sunbeds at a decent price, beach with acceptable sand (don't imagine that you will find fine white sand like cream) smooth entrance to the sea, hospitable people, restaurant with tasty food, cheap car parking (about 5 euro/day).
We were lucky that every day we spent in Albania to catch very good weather even extremely hot sometimes, and one day after we stayed at the beach for a while the sun was burning very hard so after we cooled down in the sea water we decided to take a walk to the port, let me tell you why, along the pedestrian promenade we found all kinds of advertisements with optional excursions to several places, one of these excursions caught our attention so we decided to visit the place indicated in those ads.
We also asked when we could find someone to give us more information and it seems that only after dark those optional excursion sellers were coming, we didn't wait any longer and we walked to the port of Vlore, we had to walk about 1,5 km.
To be honest we had a feeling that we didn't make it to the port and because of the heat and because we didn't estimate correctly how many bottles of water to take with us, because in the last part of the trip we couldn't find shops to buy water, but we managed somehow.
When we arrived at the port here we found a real construction site, we were scared that we had taken the wrong road, there we met a worker from the construction site and asked how to get to the port.
Following the directions of that worker we actually walked through the middle of that construction site, a bit strange, I thought it might not be a scam, but finally we reach the seashore, but here we found only a boat that looked more like a floating terrace.
At one point we see someone on that boat and ask him if there are optional excursions from that point, the gentleman showed us a board with organized excursions and their schedule, clearly at the time we got there the boats that went out to sea were returning, we waited there until the first boat arrived and we asked the crew how much it cost an excursion to Sazan-Karaburun Island, a famous cave and forbidden island.
We were very interested to see them all, so we quickly got the price for one person as well as the departure time from the port, from that place.
The name of the boat we chose to do the trip with was called Teuta and the price for one person for this trip was 20 euros plus 2 euros for parking the car in the harbour, all without food because we were going to eat on the island at a restaurant that I will present in today's post.
Where is the island of Sazan-Karaburun?
First of all I have to tell you that the island can only be reached by boat from what I have seen, the island is about 30km from the port of Vlore, it is a deserted island nobody stays here.
Where are we going today?
I have decided that in today's post to show you some pictures of the port of Vlore and then I will start exactly with the end of the trip, that is with the restaurant on the island, Alda Restaurant that I recommend, and in the second part of this trip I will show you two other spectacular places, Haxhi Ali cave and the forbidden island.
The harbour of Vlore.

Some details about the trip
The departure time of the boat is 10 am, but if you come by car you have to come a little earlier because it will take a while before you manage to park, however you will be helped to get to the parking lot, however it is a port you can not walk on your own there, in our case everything went very well, we made a reservation on WhatsApp.
The whole trip lasts from 10 in the morning until around 18 in the afternoon, I must admit that after so many hours of exploring islands, caves, beaches on the way back to the port I was quite tired.
Some pictures taken from the boat.

Alda Karaburun Restaurant
At first glance the place looks spectacular, turquoise water, the beach has no sand but stones, sunbeds at a decent price, we did a tour of the place and the restaurant after which before going to the beach and bath to eat something traditional.

We caught a spot with an amazing view of the sea, gosh the colour of the water drives me crazy, but wait till you see the taste of the food, wow, I'm really glad we chose to eat here, even though we are in a deserted spot with an amazing view the price of the food was decent.

We couldn't stay here all day although I would have liked that, the crew on the boat told us that we could spend 3 hours here and then leave, from what I saw they put us on a fishing trip on a floating pontoon.
It seems that this place is very visited by tourists from all over the world, what is worrying for me is that this deserted place in time due to massive tourism may deteriorate, therefore we its visitors must take care that it can remain so.

Bye, bye Karaburun......

My dear visitors and followers, this is the end of the first part of our trip to Sazan-Karaburun island and in the next post we will go together to visit Haxhi Ali cave and the forbidden island.
If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.

Happy summer days.... soon to be here again....I hate the cold and wet winters
I don't really like the cold season that much, the summer season is my favorite.
It's like in the summer I feel freer, I can move anywhere I want, while in the winter if there is snow or bad weather in a place I want to visit, I can't.
got that spot on mate!
Hello my friend 😊. amazing pictures and an amazing place you visited.
Vlore has seen a lot of improvements in the last few years, and they have done a great job making it a nice touristic attraction, especially during the summer. The waterfront is very nice
I have to admit that I have never visited the island of Sazan-Karaburun and I feel a little bit ashamed 🙈
I will for sure go this summer 💪
I really like Albania, although at first I had some reservations because of the bad reviews.
Last year I went to Vlore and Ksamil, but being by car I was able to visit other amazing places nearby.
I'm glad you like my post, in a few days I will post the second part of this post.
I will make two posts about the island of Sazan-Karaburun, and now in the first post I talked about the port of Vlore and about the amazing restaurant Alda Karaburun.
And in the second post I will share with you the Haxhi Ali cave and the forbidden island (as I like to call it).
Thank you for stopping by and this year I started doing some research, maybe I will return to Albania during the summer vacation.
ok then I will be waiting for your second post to learn some new things about my country and also to add places to see to my list for this summer 😊
I will definitely make a few more posts about Albania and already, as I said, I am trying to prepare my summer vacation, who knows, I might end up there again.
You really make Albania look irresistible 🙂 Crystal clear water, nice weather, beautiful landscape.. perfect..
It's nice to see another post from this magical place!
Thank you for sharing 🙂
I am very glad that you like this place in Albania, in fact, I have started to like Albania so much that even in summer vacation this year we may go there too.
This was the first part of the presentation of this place, in a few days I will write the second part about the Haxhi Ali cave and the forbidden island.
Nice boat, water colors, shores and beaches
I am very glad that you like my post, thank you for that.
