The biggest and most modern city Casablanca, Morocco
Hi dear Hive community,
Our next destination was the coastal area of Morocco.
For that we took a train from Fes to Casablanca, which lasted 3 hours and a half. It costs around 15€ per person. Journey was nice and we could observe the landscape, specially plantations of olive and orange trees. The landscape was nice, there was quite some people on it, and we were having a lot to observe. The time flew by very fast.
Casablanca gave us good first impression. People are friendly, but a bit more reserved. We were surprised about how "westernized" this place looked! It's interesting to see how cities are developing with modern public transport like trams, trains and buses. As well you can see many huge shopping malls. People follow fashion and do not look like Maorokkans we've seen in other places. It's the economic and business hub for the country with big port and an airport.
Sea was beautiful and the waves were so big! We could really hear the power of water meeting the land. Sadly we were not able to touch the water and check the temperature, but we are sure it's very cold at the moment.
The most we enjoyed the long walks we took on the newly made promenade. Specially in the morning there were not many people only early fishermen, however later we saw many tourist and locals doing sports or just enjoying the sunny walks.
The main sightseeing is a big Hassan II Mosque located just next to the sea. It's huge and nicely made with green, blue mosaic artistic inserts. Online we have found out that it's the largest Mosque in Maorokko and the third largest in the whole world. It's really impressive!
Notorious white buildings by the sea and red coloured taxis make perfect and lively contrast. Interestingly, this was not the only contrast we have found, but as well big financial contrasts between rich and poor. Specially in the evening, night time this is most obvious. Markets are full of people trying to sell something small to gain a few dirhams.
We spent one evening with our newly made friends from South Africa and Georgia. Together we enjoyed the evening cruising around the markets and eating nice Moroccan meals. Crossing paths with other travelers is always fun and gives you a lot of new experience, interesting facts and amazing stories.
Thank you for reading our posts! We really appreciate it.
Wish you a nice day!

Thank you @bhattg and @indiaunited! Very nice of you! Have a nice day! 🙏🌻
It was like I saw two sides of the place. One with a lot of craines which must be a busy district, on the other side there was a place where even animals and humans lived very well.
Yes, good observation here. It's true - city is full of big opposites and contrasts. You can spot the most modern places and few meters away, another world with local market and people socialising. I think every city has two sides, but maybe the distinction is not so obvious.
Thank you for your comment. And sorry for a bit late reply.
Have a nice day! 🌻
