Exploring Nepal πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅ Second day in Kathmandu (#3)

Hello dear Hive community,

Our next day in Kanthmandu was full of excitements. Traveling always holds many surprises for you. Still remember the eaten credit card by the ATM machine? Well, with the help of police officer and later our new Nepali friends, we reached the bank unit and arrange the pick-up for the card. I guess the lesson is to not worry much and just follow the flow of life.

Coming to new places makes you experience a lot of new things and specially in Asia, it awakes feelings you didn't knkw they exsist. Life is so much different and it's hard to understand the simplicity and life circumstances they live in. However, if you do not know different, than you are fully happy with what you have.

In the early morning we went to have a great Italian coffee in a small bakery next to the highway. The coffee was very tasty and unforgettable experience. The owner was very nice and happy to talk with us. We did not expect this type of bar here in the middle a local area of Kathmandu. It reminded us of home.

With fresh energy we took the local bus to the center of the city as we packed all things and wanted to escape the rush of the city to exchange it with green hills and snowy peaks. Pokhara was the ideal place for this to relax and to get to know the people and the land better.

So reaching to the center of the city and finding the first available bus agency was easy. For 3000 rupees we got the tickets and made a new friend. We spent maybe 3 hours with him to help him with his business. Due to that we were invited for a lunch in a nearby restaurant. It's so funny where all you can find interesting people that later become more than just a travel tour guide.

In the afternoon we agreed to meet Tamara's friend Ana from Slovenia who had just finished with her trekking in Nepal. We went to a local bar to have some chai. Together with her came a german guy called Benny, who she had met in her hostel. It's always nice to exchange experiences and tell your adventures to other travelers. Almost in every case you will get at least one good advice, tip or recomendation for a place.

At 5.30 PM we were waiting on the outskurt of the city to get on the bus to Pokhara. That was a fun experience, since the bus had enormous sofa chairs, which you rarely find in Europe. Besides that we got a bottle of water and a stop for a late dinner fully in local style.

The bus ride lasted for 10 hours and guess what, the distance we made was only 200 kilometers. The whole road is under a construction and full of holes and is basically just a plain sand road through one valley to another. We were driving the whole night, but it was almost impossible to get some quality sleep. We were happy to reach our new destination in the morning, and filled with adrenaline we just started the day without going to sleep.

I know someone who has just returned from Nepal and your photos remind me of hers. Chaos, colors, and a great vibe!

I wouldn't expect such great cappuccino there either πŸ˜‰
