A VISIT TO BELUR MATH, A SACRED PLACE IN WEST BENGAL,INDIA

I hope you are doing good.

In my previous post you have seen the Dakshineswar temple by river side of Hoogly.Today I want to share visit to opposite side of the river Hoogly.There is another Sri Ramkrishna math inaugurated by his most famous disciple Swami Vivekananda.Many of you may be familiar with him. He is the guys who Impressed the world giving speech in Chicago in 1893.

"I am proud to belong to a religion which has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance" Swami Vivekananda said and then he goes on and on to amaze the entire world then.We Indian are very proud of him.You can find his speech here.

Let's get to math(temple) experience what I tried to capture in my mobile phone.

Here we are going to ride a boat but suddenly clouds appear in the sky to make it quite dark.The seen was expectacullar.

But it took a few minutes to make the sky clear again.

We rode on boat.You can see a lot of people are with us.Maximum number of them are going to visit the Sri Ramkrishna Math.May be a few of them is regular passenger.

I walked to the front of the boat to capture river view.You can see there are rope on the boat because of safety.Strom or Tsunami can come any time😀.

Then I capture a boat going somewhere.The view is expectacullar but low light did harm to my photography.🤣

We landed and waited for another boat to come.See how many people are off boarding together.

Then we walk towards the temple area.The gate of the MATH opens at 12 pm.We make it at right time and enter the premisses.

The volume of people was not much.You can see.I thought not many people came to visit but later I found something unexpected.I will reveal later on.

We were below the scroching sun as it was noon. We are trying captures the temple.Here are some good view of the temple and it's nearby premisses.

Here you can see name plate of Sri Ramkrishna.Repairing and reconstruction was in progress also.

After taking some quick photos we had to enter the temple as the caretaker kept telling us because it was time for meditation inside.We sat inside and we were told to maintain scilence.We meditated for 2-3 mins and then we took a glance of Sri ramkrishna.

We soon had to come out took our shoes on and were told to collect tokens for food.I was surprised , I didn't knew that lunch would be served for free. Yeah food is free but it is a sacred place, people India never be miser when it is a case of worship to any god.

We were 5-6 people donated some money as we could and got the token for food.Then we were heading towards the place where food was to be served.The picture below shows the path towards the lunch room.

On the why we found some elephants made of grass I think. They were looking very beautiful indeed.Construction was also going on there

This is the building we were told to enter. So we did.

Then we make ourselves to the lunch room. I was totally surprised.I had not expected so many people there.They already did what we did before and taking rest here and awaiting lunch.

Look there must be more than two thousands people who goona lunch together.This was for the first time I was having lunch with so many people and before started eating I took a few photos as you can see.

So sorry I couldn't capture photos while eating. The lunch was pretty good. Ofcourse veg as it was a sacred place. So non-veg is not allowed.After finishing lunch it was already 2:30 pm and we took some rest and then at 3 pm it was time for visit the remaing wonders.

We visited a few museum where belongings of Sri ramkrishna are kept conserved.Capturing photos are not allowed. So no photos of the Sri Ramkrishna collections. So sorry for that.

After lunch we took some selfies. Here is selfie of mine with a little cuteness.She is my niece.She can't walk yet.So we carry her through the entire journey.

Finally we walked back home in the evening.It is always an amazing experience to visit a sacred place.In the month of October in our state West Bengal,India we have a great worship of DEVI GURGA and followed by another one the KALI PUZA.I will cover both of them.It will be very amazing cause lacs of people gather every year to visit both of them I mentioned above.There will be pandel and lighting.You definately gonna like it.
