E3 in the Poland - Day 15 ( Stage 3 )

At the beginning of May, we have two public holidays in the Czech Republic. This year it turned out that the holiday was always on Monday, May 1 and 8. In addition, there was no work to do because we had all the projects done. So I decided to take 4 days off to get 10 days for travel. Which was exactly as much as I planned for the next leg of the trip along the European route E3. As I ended up just over the border in Poland last year, I decided to continue further east through Poland.

Začátkem května máme v České republice dva státní svátky. Letos to vyšlo tak, že byl svátek vždy v pondělí 1. a 8.května. Navíc práci nebylo co dělat, protože jsme všechny projekty měli hotové. Tak jsem se rozhodl si vzít 4 dny volna a získat tak 10 dní na cestování. Což bylo přesně tolik kolik jsem plánoval na další úsek cesty po Evropské trase E3. Jelikož jsem loni skončil těsně za hranicí v Polsku , rozhodl jsem se pokračovat dále na východ právě Polskem.

That's why I am 29.4.2023 set off by train in the northeast direction from Prague. I had to change in Tanvald to continue through Harrachov to Szklarska Poreba. I bought the ticket through the Czech Railways app for about 220 CZK, but on the train the conductor told me that if I bought the ticket from him or at the station it would cost only 88 CZK.

Proto jsem 29.4.2023 vyrazil vlakem směr severovýchod od Prahy. Musel jsem přestoupit v Tanvaldu, abych mohl pokračovat přes Harrachov až do Szklarske Poreby. Jízdenku jsem si koupil přes aplikaci Českých drah za asi 220,-Kč, ale ve vlaku mi průvodčí řekl, že kdybych si jízdenku koupil u něj, nebo v nádraží. Stála by jen 88,-Kč.

Because I didn't want to go to the place where I ended last time. Climbing all the way up from the city. I decided to get off two stations earlier, but since last year the train station Jakuszyce was moved to Polana Jakuszyce, so I didn't get off and had to go one station further to Szklarska Poreba Huta.

Jelikož se mi nechtělo k místu kde jsem naposled skončil stoupat až dole z města. Rozhodl jsem se vystoupit a dvě stanice dříve, ale od loňského roku byla předposlední stanice Jakuszyce posunuta do Polana Jakuszyce a tak jsem nestihl vystoupit a musel jet o stanici dále do Szklarska Poreba Huta.

The route through the mountain village up the hill was cool, but the sky started to cloud over and it looked like it was going to rain. Which happened after a while. It did not take long and the roads were full of mud. But still there were quite a few people moving along the ridge.

Cesta přes horskou vesnici do kopce byla v pohodě, ale nebe se začalo zatahovat a vypadalo to, že bude pršet. Což se za chvíli také stalo. Za nedlouho byly cesty plné bahna, ale i přes to se po hřebeni pohybovalo dost lidí.

It took me a little over an hour to finally reach the imaginary starting line of the trek that I planned to complete in 10 days.

Lehce přes hodinu mi trvalo než jsem se konečně dostal na pomyslnou startovní čáru treku, který jsem měl v plánu za 10 dní ujít.

The descent from the sign was a bit wild as it led along a path that gradually turned into a stream thanks to the rain and the rounded stones were quite slippery. Fortunately, trekking poles helped me in this terrain.

Sestup od rozcestí byl poněkud divoký, protože vedl cestou, která se díky dešti postupně měnila v potok a zaoblené kameny dosti klouzali. Naštěstí mi v tomto terénu pomohly trekové hůlky.

I originally planned to take a little rest at the ponds that I saw on the map. However, the rain was so strong that I was almost unable to check the rightness of my route on the phone, because the display was so wet that it did not want to take my touches.

Původně jsem plánoval dát si malý odpočinek u rybníčků co jsem viděl v mapě. Jenomže déšť byl tak silný, že jsem skoro nebyl schopen zkontrolovat správnost mojí cesty na telefonu, protože display byl tak mokrý, že nechtěl brát moje doteky.

Around three o'clock in the afternoon, the clouds started to break and I could finally start enjoying the views that this part of the Jizera Mountains has to offer. Sometimes I even saw the snow-capped peaks of the Krkonoše Mountains.

Kolem třetí hodiny odpoledne se oblačnost začala protrhávat a konečně jsem si mohl začít užívat vyhlídek, které tato část Jizerských hor nabízí. Občas jsem viděl i zasněžené vrcholky Krkonoš.

Around seven o'clock I reached the rock formations called Bobrowe Skaly, from which there would certainly be a beautiful view if it were not cloudy. But since the rain was approaching again, I decided to end the first day here and find a place to sleep.

Kolem sedmé jsem došel ke skalním útvarům s názvem Bobrowe Skaly, odkud by jistě byl krásný výhled pokud by nebylo zataženo. Ale protože se opět blížil déšť rozhodl jsem se zde první den zakončit a najít místo na spaní.

I camped near the rocks, in case the morning cleared and I was able to photograph the sunrise over the Krkonoše Mountains.

Utábořil jsem se nedaleko skal, pro případ kdyby se ráno vyjasnilo a já byl schopen fotografovat východ slunce nad Krkonošemi.

During the first day of continuing along the E3 route, I walked less than 19 km, which was less than I needed, since the total route according to the maps is around 300 km, which is an average of 30 km per day. And I didn't expect what actually awaited me, because I didn't look at the height profile of the route. So, during the first day I conquered 3 peaks and overcame an elevation of 1007 meters.

Během prvního dne pokračování po trase E3 jsem ušel necelých 19km, což bylo méně než jsem potřeboval, protože celková trasa podle map má kolem 300 km, což je průměr 30 km denně. A to jsem nečekal co mě vlastně čeká, protože jsem se nepodíval na výškový profil trasy. Takže během prvního dne jsem pokořil 3 vrcholy a překonal převýšení 1007 metrů.
