Chousathi Yogini Temple, Hirapur
A family picnic transformed into a bachelor party - disaster turned into blessings.
Once you decide to meet your old friends, nothing can stop you and that is what happened with us. It all started with a proposal to have a family picnic, with friends and their families staying nearby. Everyone was excited, but just before one day, couple of friends backed out, and things went south. Even advance was given to the cook and vendors, but they being known, agreed to adjust them later. But we could not control our desire to meet and decided to go ahead and hold a mini bachelor party instead.
The Chausath Yogini Temple was a tantric shrine, dating back to 9th century CE and is a perfect place for our picnic as it's located just 20 kms outside the city, having a rural ambience. It consists of 64 ( Chousathi in our language) female idols (yoginis), most of which are broken. They are believed to be 64 forms of Goddess Durga, representing eternal power, who existed on her own and created everything by will. This kind of temple is rarely found anywhere else.
The area feels pretty blissful with a beautiful large pond outside, adding coolness to the environment. This is how you can experience the difference between the city life and rural life in such a small distance.
Now let's move to the fun part.
Having limited number of people, we decided to have only rice, mutton, salad and our friend purchased the mutton from that rural area only, as he stays near to this venue. In the interest of time, his wife started the cooking at home, and he brought the mutton half cooked. On his way, he saw fresh fish being caught from the river, so picked up a big one.
Being a great organizer ( I can barely do this), he loaded everything in the car with a gas stove to cook here.
Unfortunately he forgot to check the condition of the stove - the way it was burning, he felt it will take couple of days to finish cooking and that is when the fun got bigger.
Our generation won't give up easily, isn't it ? Teamwork in action and we managed to put on a chullah and the excitement doubled, because food was now supposed to taste better. Next time, we will have some firewood instead of this gas stove - initially it was difficult but after adding ghee, it caught up nicely.
Leaving our friend in charge, we went inside the temple and captured some nice memories.
Look what was ready by the time we came back - river fish fried on firewood - mouthwatering and tasty - one can only imagine, if experienced.
For the first time, we tried INDRI - sponsored (forcibly) by one of friend as it was due for his Creta - of course he happily accepted, it always feels great to be a giver among friends.
Next couple of hours were pure fun, away from all the stress - we were so happy to not spoil the entire plan, and enjoy the day to the fullest. Once you plan to meet with friends, there is no stopping.
Imagine how that would taste ?

Indriyo k bich me indri 👍😝😝 Apna jugaad at any given moment of time is always good. Switching from gas stove to chulha is good...BTW I am really impressed with your weight loss journey. U shed a lot....
It has been a long journey of 7 years - in fact I felt I have reduced a bit more, so now resting to gain weight :)
This is really impressive sir, I love that you people didn't give up even when the stove was not working well. If it was some other people, the stove would have spoiled their entire plans
That temple looks really beautiful, it's architecture too!
I'm glad you still managed to have fun, number doesn't matter, quality of people does!
🎉🎉🥳 Congratulations 🥳🎊🎊

When you have a good heart and kind company, even the messed-up plans turn into unforgettable memories 😄
Often, something we plan doesn't turn out as we expected, but that doesn't mean it has to be a bad thing. Something good can come out of it, as in this case, and the place is wonderful, not only because of the beautiful buildings but also because it is surrounded by nature, vegetation, water, and a lot of history and culture. What more could you ask for?
Plus, you made the food yourselves and had an unforgettable time, which is great. Best regards.

Good morning, dear friend @sanjeevm
It's a shame the original version of the get-together couldn't happen, but as you say, once you plan to meet up with friends, there's no going back, and they ended up having this excellent picnic.
Beautiful shots; it seems everything went very well.
As for the taste of the food, I imagine it was delicious and spicy, the typical flavor of a meal shared with friends.
Have a great day.
party must go on
It must have definitely been a very great moment actually that will share wonderful memories
The Chousathi Yogini Temple is really beautiful, and looks so nice. The view and weather is also perfect.
Having to cook the food and enjoy it afterwards feels so good. Seeing the food made want to taste it because it really looks so good. The people also enjoyed it which is so wholesome to see. What an amazing day you got there 🤍
Good morning, Mr. @sanjeevm
How wonderful it is to spend time with your childhood friends, sharing delicious food and comforting time with them.
Beautiful photographs.
Nothing beats that spirit of togetherness..it’s was good you guys still went ahead with your party despite the low turn out…it was great after all and the pictures are beautiful
This looks like it was a really good time for you. I am sorry it couldn't be the big family picnic you were hoping for, but it looks like you made the most of it!
Yes, the last party till the coming Winter, this year we may have more fun.
Sometimes bad things are meant to happen so great ones will start right after! Happy to hear about the spontaneous party!
I absolutely love this! I would prefer living in a rural area over a city. Thank you for sharing your spontaneous plans; I believe this is the best way to enjoy time with friends. The fried fish sounds delicious—I really appreciate how it captures the warmth and fun of your gathering.
Thank you so much, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Enjoyed to the fullest, thank you.
It was good to reunited with your friends again, remembering the past and making new memories together.
Wood-fired food has that special touch of flavor, plus the most important thing is that everyone was able to have fun and turn the picnic into a great bachelor party. And judging by their faces, they really enjoyed it, as they are pure happiness.
That's right, once you make a plan with friends you have to do your best to fulfill it and seeing their faces full of joy was the best choice
Wow happy family bonding enjoy your food

Ya, nothing better..
It’s amazing how life’s surprises can turn a simple gathering into a once in a lifetime celebration. Definitely a story to tell for years to come @sanjeevm 💞
Sometimes, there are moments or situations that we never expect to happen, but in the end, everything gets resolved with a good company. Just go with the flow and have fun. You are lucky that you have your old friends. Greetings.
Yes, they are our best assets of life.

Nice captures!
Okay, I’m officially jealous of that river fish scene. Fresh catch, firewood cooking and a bunch of good old friends, That’s heaven right there.
Sometimes, things don't go our way. There's a beauty that comes out of it: the bonding, connections that sparked again, and happy moments shared together created wonderful memories. 💖
Cooking over firewood really does something to food, doesn’t it? I grew up in a village and still miss that smoky flavor. Great to see people rediscovering it
It's good that you get to meet old friends again. It rarely happens to me, and I miss many of them.

Of course, we should take some time out and go on a picnic somewhere with our family and loved ones and make our day happy.
My close friends and I have have planned to meet for some months now but it couldn't happen due to individual engagements.
After reading this post, I've learned that nothing should stop or hinder friends timeout. We need to overcome obstacles to make things work out.
I'll call my friends after writing this comment and ensure we meet as planned in the shortest possible time.

Warm regards to your friends.
Even what you planned didn't goes what you wanted, but spending with your friends showed you enjoy it so much. Sharing foods, and having in depth conversations says it all.
