The magnificent architecture of historical Badshahi mosque
Hello guys. Today I will share with you a very famous mosque which is located in Lahore and it is a very old and beautiful mosque. I visited this mosque about two months ago when my cousin was here. We had gone to Lahore for some shopping but on my insistence we visited this mosque because my cousin already had visited this mosque many times. We left Gujranwala at around 8 am and we visited this mosque at 2 pm on our way back.
In the picture below you can see that this is the entrance of Badshahi Mosque and see how its beauty attracts you. It was quite sunny that day and my cousin said that we have to explore this mosque in an hour because the weather is quite hot and I agreed to him. Despite the hot weather, there was a lot of excitement there because Lahore Fort is right in front of Badshahi Mosque and that is why you will see a rush at this place all the time.
A man was selling hats near the entrance of the Badshahi Mosque and I admire his courage for doing this in such a hot weather. Below you can see the entrance of the Lahore Fort. I took this picture standing in front of the entrance of the Badshahi Mosque. Its entrance is very big but looks very small in the picture. Between the two is a beautiful garden in which a baradari has also been built.
This is the main gate of the Badshahi Mosque and you can see how big it is and I don't think one person can open or close this gate alone. Before entering the mosque, we put our shoes outside. My cousin was walking ahead of me because I was capturing every old wall of the mosque.
When I saw the three domes of the Badshahi Mosque from a distance, I was very excited to see them up close because I had only seen the Badshahi Mosque in books before. You can see in the picture the people sitting under a curtain, they were sending those entering the mosque upstairs so that we could visit some old things there, but taking cameras there is not allowed. If anyone wants to contribute to the reconstruction of this mosque, donations are also taken for that. The weather was so hot that the floor was very hot and water was being poured on the floor to make it easier to walk.
The picture you are looking at above is the inside of the entrance and it has a dome with beautiful carvings on it. You can see in the picture below that a fountain has also been designed in the middle of the mosque which was closed at that time but you can imagine how much the beauty of this mosque increases when all the lights of the mosque are on at night and this fountain is running.
When I entered the mosque, I took a selfie, which you can see below, and behind me, my cousin is also busy capturing the carvings on the walls on his mobile phone. The picture you are seeing above is the arch of the mosque, and you can see the carvings on the wall in front, how amazing and elegant.
You will see amazing carvings everywhere on the walls and ceilings of the mosque which are very ancient. Some of the walls have been renovated. The walls are very thick and marble and red stone have been used in these walls which is why the walls of this mosque have a beautiful attraction. Inside there are chandeliers on the ceilings as you can see in the pictures which increases to the beauty of this mosque.
My cousin and I took a selfie and we were looking at the carvings on each wall of the mosque. I was lost in the beautiful carvings of the ancient times because it is very sophisticated and elegant as you can see in the pictures. This mosque has three big domes and in front of these three, three entrances are also made in the shape of domes and in front of it there is a veranda.
This mosque was built between 1671 and 1673 during the reign of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir and is called Badshahi Masjid. Badshahi is an Urdu word and means the rule of something. This mosque was built to symbolize the power of the Mughal emperor and was the largest mosque in the world at that time. This mosque is more than 350 years old but still stands strong and is a beautiful place for travellers.
This is my cousin moazam and he was wearing black pant and a brown shirt. He bought this shirt from Islamabad and Moaz liked it for him. I also liked this shirt. Below I also took a picture but Moazam's picture is better than mine as you can see. There is a arch built above the place where I am standing and the choice of colors in the carvings on it is also very good. In this mosque everyone feels like they are in the past because it is also renovated in the same way.
I took a lot of pictures of the walls of this mosque and out of them I uploaded some good pictures here. I love to see and capture such carvings of the old times. You can see in the picture below that we both took a selfie again. My picture came out good but my cousin looks confused.😄
The picture you are seeing above was taken from inside the mosque and in this picture you can see the entrance of the mosque from the inside. Four minarets have also been built on the four corners of the mosque. The red color of this mosque is more attractive because red stone and marble have been used in it.
The picture you see below is a picture of me taken by the moazam and you can see that I am standing on a water area because the floor was extremely hot, even the water I was standing on was extremely hot. I quickly took the picture and stepped onto the carpet they had laid out for walking.
Now we had come out of the mosque and outside the mosque as I showed above there is a beautiful garden which is between the Badshahi Mosque and Lahore Fort and there is also a beautiful pavilion in it. The ghoda baggi you see in the picture below I saw right in front of Minar Pakistan and I found it quite beautiful that's why I captured it. Below you will also see a picture of Minar Pakistan which I took on my way back because Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque and Minar Pakistan are in the same place.
I took this picture from one side of the Badshahi Mosque when we were going back. We spent about an hour here because it was very hot but I really found this mosque to be the most magnificent and oldest. It has stood even after so many years and the reason for this is its strength. I hope you like the cravings of this very famous mosque. Don't forget to give your feedback about this mosque in my comment section. I will be waiting for your comments.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful historical place , I myself is a lover of historical places and we should preserved it . Structures like this is part of identity of a country however I read that donation is open for the public may I ask if the government has reserved fund for this ? It is also included in UNESCO? I hope to visit the place soon
It's nice to know that you also like historical places. You should definitely visit this place. It is a very old mosque. I don't think it belongs to UNESCO but if anyone wants to contribute to its restoration, they are welcome.
Someday I will visit . Thanks

This is a beautiful mosque with intriguing architecture. It doesn't look old at all. What a beautiful building.
Red stone and marble were used in its walls and its walls are also thick and this is the reason why this mosque is still in good condition despite many years. This mosque is also renovated so that it remains a beautiful location for visitors and the memory of the old days remains fresh.
That's great.
This mosque is stunningly beautiful. Looks so sophisticated for tourism. But wait, did you say it's 350 years old? This is incredible! They have good maintenance culture I must say. I'd like to visit here someday.
Hope none Muslims are allowed in there?
This so so magnificent and beautiful. I love these pictures. Thanks immensely for sharing.
You can search on the internet and see that this is a Badshahi mosque that is more than 350 years old and it is very elegant. Its architecture and walls remind you of ancient times. You should definitely visit this mosque and yes, foreigners are allowed to visit this mosque.
I wasn't doubting it at all... Was only expressing my surprise. I definitely will.
