France - Exploring The Parisian Icons: Effiel Tower And Arc De Triomphe

Hello there!

Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries, such as Japan, Maldives, Indonesia and US, it's probably time to share about my recent Europe trip! If you are keen to find out which countries and cities I visited, you can read the quick summary here.

There is actually a back story behind this trip. My friend and I planned this trip a few years back and it was supposed to take place in Apr 2020, but as most of you would know, Covid 19 pandemic came and we had to cancel the trip due to all the travel restrictions and health advisories. So we planned for this trip in 2025 and it finally materialised!

Documenting all my entries for this 2025 Europe Trip:
Turkey - An Istanbul Adventure: From Blue Mosque to Bazaars

After Istanbul, we took from a flight all the way to Paris! It was my first time to Paris and France and everything was new to me! What first struck me was the buildings here. There were all very historic looking and the architecture was so amazing - it was very different from the city I live in where everywhere was modern looking skyscrapers. How did they preserve these buildings for so many years?

After we checked in our hotel, we made our way to Effiel Tower by foot. Passed by this military school, which looked so cool!

And finally, we saw the Effiel Tower some distance away! Simply WOW! I know Effiel Tower might be a little overrated as a tourist destination to some people, for me, I always wanted to see at least once in my lifetime and it was a dream come true. I have seen all the photographs about it but seeing it in real life is really different!

We slowly made our way towards the tower and the tower just looked bigger and bigger!

Finally we were at the bottom. Another angle of the tower! There was also so much detail to the structure of the tower, if you noticed.

We walked across and past the tower onto the other side. Here's another great place to take a photo of the Effiel Tower too!

We walked past the bridge and there's Seine River! Managed to catch both the river cruise and the tower in the same snapshot! Look at the number of people on the river cruise!!!

One of the many structures/statues in Paris. This was taken at the bridge.

Another view of the Seine River, another fully filled river cruise.

Let's zoom in... Look at the number of the visitors!

On the pier there's a lot of people as well.

We made our way by foot to Arc De Triomphe, which was another important landmark as well as a tourist attraction as well. Once again the architecture was so beautiful, and it really showed that people in the past were so artistic. It was situated in the middle of the roundabout so I just took a photo from across the road.

When in France, everyone looks for Louis Vuitton. For me it's not to buy those stuff (they are so expensive!) but it's just to see what their stores look like and just window shop. Here in Paris, it seems like they are building a hotel? Interesting looking one though.

You probably couldn't tell but it was already getting quite late. During summer time, the days are much much longer, and I think it's always a good thing for travellers. This is so that we can explore and see more things because we have more daylight time. Some random snaps as we went for dinner and then back to hotel to rest for the day.

That summed up our first day in Paris. We actually didn't have much time because we touched down in the airport in the afternoon and that left us with just the evening to explore. But we still managed to visit, in my opinion, one of the most important attractions in Paris, which is the Effiel Tower! It definitely left me mesmerised and it's a sight that I will always remember. The only slight issue was that there were just too many visitors in Paris and at these popular attractions, and it was sometimes hard to move through or even take nice pictures. Hehe. Any guesses where I will be going next?

So that's all I have today! Have you been to Paris or France? Let me know in the comments below!

Finally, thanks for reading my post in the community under World Map Pin!
