A memorable day at El Parque De Las Leyendas

I was going through my photo library and had the wonderful surprise of finding some photos that for some reason I had forgotten about. These photos are in the backup of a phone I had some years ago and that folder was hidden among so many others, it could have been lost in that sea of files, but I think that fate and my curiosity to review in depth the things I have in my computer, allowed me to find this to share it with you.

So, it was July 2021, the pandemic controls were relaxed and I was on vacation, so I decided to visit a gigantic park that I had heard about from my coworkers. Something curious about this park, is that although it is quite large in extension, it is located in the middle of the city mainly between Venezuela Avenue and Jose de la Riva Agüero Avenue, two very busy avenues in the city of Lima.

One of the things that call the attention of this park is that it offers the possibility to experience the different geographies of the Peruvian territory, it is impressive how they managed to recreate the types of vegetation of the highlands, the jungle and arid areas, it goes without saying that Peru is a country with many geographical nuances.

There is a place dedicated to the national animal of Peru which is the llama, an iconic animal and easily related to the Inca country, I think it is internationally known that the llama is from that country.

There is also a place known as Huaca Cruz Blanca, a structure of archaeological interest that takes us to the past and clearly shows us how the buildings were in the thirteenth century, approximately. It is very impressive to see how such a building is preserved.

The common areas are quite extensive and allow the public of the city of Lima to relax considering the high level of stress that is experienced there, I know firsthand that it is a busy city with traffic that can become unbearable. So, the large lake, the walkways and the green grass are undoubtedly spaces for the healthy enjoyment of visitors.

Writing this post awoke in me a lot of nostalgia, Lima is a city that I miss and honestly I would like to go back someday, it will not be easy, but I will do my best to go again to visit the great city that, although I know it can be complicated and stressful, it offers a universe of possibilities to have a good time, I spent 6 wonderful years there that I will never forget.

What a lovely throwback! It's always a pleasant surprise to stumble upon forgotten photos, especially from such meaningful experiences. El Parque De Las Leyendas sounds like such a unique spot. Being able to explore Peru’s diverse geography in one place must’ve been incredible! And the llama section? Too cute!

Yes, it was definitely a wonderful experience which I was able to relive thanks to this post. It was interesting to see how they built scenarios with the different geographies of Peru.

Greetings!

Beautiful place, especially for what you mention about the different geographies in one space. Peru is a beautiful country, I had a student who was Peruvian and she showed me pictures of where she lived, very nice.

I'm also surprised how well they keep such old buildings, that part I think is what I liked the most, especially because they always keep, those places, a lot of history.

The llama is an animal that is also found a lot in Patagonia in Argentina, but it is an original and native animal of Peru. It is very pleasing to have travelled through this place through your story and photographs. And I'm glad it brought back good memories. Hugs!

I never imagined that I could see such different scenarios in a single space, that is perhaps the most impressive thing about the park, although those buildings of archaeological interest also left me shocked, it is impressive to know that for centuries things like that have been built.

Thank you for your visit and support. Take care!

It's enjoyable to visit this park because it has different natural scenery to see. It's also relaxing to go for a walk within the area. How cute the llama is; I have seen this animal only once in a zoo here. These ruins also show that this was inhabited long time ago and had its own identity. This city is memorable for you coz you spent some years in this place.

And yes, the llama is a beautiful animal. Greetings!

It's a nice way to remember those years lived in Peru, finding that folder with these pictures was not by chance, I think Peru is calling you haha 😂

The buildings of past centuries is impressive, without great materials or technology they managed to build buildings that lasted for many years and are very well preserved 😍

Peru is definitely calling me haha, that's a trip that needs to happen.

And yes, those ancient constructions proved to have good architecture and resistance, no doubt they were an advanced civilization.

Yes, the llama has some resemblance to the sheep, but not many. And yes, these photos brought back beautiful memories.
