Seaside vacation in Chernomorets, Bulgaria. Hotel and second dinner in Starfish restaurant. (Part 2)

(Edited)

After the first post about our latest trip in the town of Chernomorets, it’s time to share our experience in the hotel we booked for our stay. The price was a quite nice deal for about $30 per night in an artistic family hotel. It’s called Botique Villa Amalia.

The price includes the accommodation only and does not include any meal. We wanted to arrange our own meals anyway, so this was more than perfect place for us.

The owner is an artist, so it’s clear why she decided to make a botique place where everything is matched perfectly. As a matter of fact, every room has its own style, but I will cover only ours, because we didn’t have any opportunity to view some of the others. We were settled in a London style double room and every detail was perfectly matching the theme.

Of course, every room comes with a separated Bathroom where even the tiles were matching the theme. All the cabinets and and mirrors were shaped like a typical phone kiosks and post office bins.

There was also a separate place where there were electric kettle for hot water and some instant coffee, which was a compliment from the owners. Take notice that even the coffee cups were matched to the overall English style of the room!

Apart from the instant coffee there were espresso capsule coffee, Lavazza, which were available on demand and cost about $0,5 each. You may ask where we were supposed to brew them… Well, in the garden of the house a separate place was available, where apart from the coffee machine there were some very neat tables with chairs and kitchen area, where you can have a dinner at.

The garden itself was very relaxing and quite well managed too! Everywhere around the place was fresh and green and there were also some exotic plants and trees in the green areas. If we stayed for a longer period of time we would gladly use the available place and have a dinner.

Interior spaces like corridors and staircases were all decorated simple and artistic like the rooms and the yard. I think this was the best deal and the best looking place(at this price level) around. We will most likely visit it again next year!

Time for food, huh? The second evening we decided to try another place that was recommended by the owners. It’s called Starfish and looked a bit more simple and small than the restaurant we chose in the first evening. It’s arranged in two stores and the second one is actually an open terrace, so fresh air is constantly circulating.

My wife decided to go for some pasta with salmon and seafood for the main, while I went for a good amount of fresh local fish. We shared a plate of caviar appetizer with some toasted loaf of bread. Everything was perfectly cooked and very delicious!

One drawback is that it became a bit dark when the sun set and the night fell. I think they should ad a bit of additional lights to make the setting a bit more hospitable. Yet, this may be the only downside that we experienced.

Of course the starter of the dinner was a fresh Greek salad and a very tasty Rakia from grapes. This is generally a must-to-order when you attend a restaurant for dinner here in Bulgaria.

And of course, what’s a main dish without a beer in the great summer heat? Let’s have one!

The price we payed for the second dinner was similar to the first one(about $33), and the whole place was a bit more peaceful and relaxed. There were constantly people that were coming to ask for available tables, but most of them were sent away. We were lucky winners, because we booked our table in advance. So if you want to visit either one of the restaurants, it’s better to arrange the dinner in advance.

So, this will effectively end my post and I’ll remain with my dreams about the next seaside vacation, which will not be sooner than the beginning of 2023 summer.

See you soon and have a nice week!
