Quien me conoce sabe lo mucho que me gustaría poder viajar y conocer cada rincón de este mundo pero es el tipo de cosas que no es posible para todos y yo soy parte de ese grupo de personas. Son muy pocas las experiencias de viaje que tengo y esa es una parte de mi vida que ha estado estancada por años, sin embargo, el año pasado el grupo de Hive Monagas organizó un pequeño viaje para visitar Caripe, un lindo pueblo de nuestro estado y sin pensarlo me uní al grupo y la experiencia fue maravillosa.
Este fue un viaje de un día entero, partiendo en horas de la mañana desde la ciudad de Maturín con destino a Caripe, pudiendo visitar en nuestro viaje el pueblo de Guanaguana, La Cueva del Guácharo y el Salto“La Paila”. Fue un viaje de aproximadamente 3 horas (tanto de ida como de regreso), por lo que tuvimos que aprovechar muy bien el tiempo que teníamos para poder hacer el recorrido que estaba en los planes y aunque parecía muy poco tiempo alcanzó para hacer algo de turismo a pesar de que hicimos varias paradas en el camino para tomar algunas fotos.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I would like to be able to travel and see every corner of this world but it is the type of thing that is not possible for everyone and I am part of that group of people. There are very few travel experiences that I have and that is a part of my life that has been stagnant for years, however, last year the Hive Monagas group organized a small trip to visit Caripe , a beautiful town in our state and without thinking I joined the group and the experience was wonderful.
This was a full day trip, departing in the morning from the city of Maturín to Caripe, being able to visit the town of Guanaguana, La Cueva del Guácharo and the “La Paila” Falls. It was a trip of approximately 3 hours (both there and back), so we had to make good use of the time we had to be able to do the tour that was in the plans and although it seemed like very little time, there was enough time to do some sightseeing. although we made several stops along the way to take some photos.
He decidido dividir este viaje en 2 posts, ya que uno solo sería muy extenso, así que en esta primera parte les hablaré de nuestra visita a La Cueva del Guácharo, lugar al que llegamos directamente para comenzar nuestra aventura. Caripe es un lindo pueblo de nuestro estado Monagas conocido también como Caripe del Guácharo o Jardín del Oriente Venezolano, este tiene como principal atractivo turístico a la reconocida Cueva del Guácharo que se ubica en el Monumento Natural “Alejandro de Humboldt”.
I have decided to divide this trip into 2 posts, since one would be very long, so in this first part I will tell you about our visit to La Cueva del Guácharo, a place where we arrived directly to begin our adventure. Caripe is a beautiful town in our Monagas state also known as Caripe del Guácharo or Garden of the Venezuelan East, its main tourist attraction is the renowned Cueva del Guácharo which It is located in the Natural Monument “Alejandro de Humboldt”.
La entrada es totalmente libre, por lo que podemos disfrutar de sus instalaciones sin ningún costo, sin embargo, para entrar a la cueva y hacer el recorrido si hay que hacer un pago y no es durante todo el día que se puede hacer sino a cierta hora, nosotros en ese viaje no tuvimos la oportunidad de entrar pero si de disfrutar del resto del lugar.
Entry is completely free, so we can enjoy its facilities at no cost, however, to enter the cave and take the tour you have to make a payment and it is not throughout the day that it can be done but at a certain time. time, on that trip we did not have the opportunity to enter but we did have the opportunity to enjoy the rest of the place.
Apenas entramos se puede apreciar la belleza del lugar y la increíble presencia de la naturaleza así como la majestuosidad de las montañas que lo rodean.
As soon as we enter we can appreciate the beauty of the place and the incredible presence of nature as well as the majesty of the mountains that surround it.
Parte de la naturaleza que conforma este lugar está compuesta por hermosas flores que podemos encontrar en diferentes áreas del parque, no por nada Caripe es considerado el Jardín de Oriente y estando aquí podemos confirmarlo.
Part of the nature that makes up this place is made up of beautiful flowers that we can find in different areas of the park, not for nothing Caripe is considered the Garden of the East and being here we can confirm it.
No solo podemos encontrar flores y plantas en las áreas verdes sino que este parque tiene también su propio vivero donde encontramos una gran variedad de plantas que podemos comprar para llevar a casa.
Not only can we find flowers and plants in the green areas but this park also has its own nursery where we find a wide variety of plants that we can buy to take home.
En una zona del parque nos encontramos con una pequeña leyenda que muestra la parte interna de la cueva junto a algunos datos como la altitud y longitud de esta.
In an area of the park we find a small legend that shows the internal part of the cave along with some data such as its altitude and longitude.
Por otro lado, también podemos apreciar una escultura de Alejandro de Humboldt, a quien se debe el nombre de este monumento natural y a sus pies podemos ver una inscripción donde se lee:
Notable científico que visitó la cueva en el año 1799”
On the other hand, we can also see a sculpture of Alexander of Humboldt, to whom this natural monument is named and at his feet we can see an inscription that reads:

Como les mencioné al principio, ese día no pudimos entrar a la cueva y hacer el recorrido pero al menos pudimos llegar hasta la entrada de esta y apreciarla desde allí, desde lejos se nota lo enorme que es la cueva en su entrada pero ya estando allí cerca es aún más imponente, es simplemente increíble poder estar allí y debe serlo también entrar y poder ver a los famosos guácharos que hacen vida dentro de la cueva pero esa es una experiencia que aún tengo pendiente y espero poder vivir en un próximo viaje.
As I mentioned at the beginning, that day we were not able to enter the cave and take the tour but at least we were able to get to the entrance of it and appreciate it from there, from afar you can see how enormous the cave is at its entrance but already being there Nearby it is even more impressive, it is simply incredible to be there and it must also be incredible to enter and be able to see the famous guacharos that live inside the cave but that is an experience that I still have pending and I hope to be able to experience on a next trip.
Lo que si no me perdí en este viaje fue de probar unas deliciosas fresas con crema de los vendedores en las afueras de la cueva y es que como dicen por ahí “Si vas a la Cueva del Guácharo y no te comes unas fresas con crema entonces no fuiste” y yo con esto les puedo asegurar que si fui.
What I didn't miss on this trip was trying some delicious strawberries with cream from the vendors on the outskirts of the cave and as they say, "If you go to the Cueva del Guácharo and don't eat some strawberries with cream then "You didn't go" and with this I can assure you that I did go.
