What have I been up to in the last few days? ~ traveling of course ~ 3 planes and a long train ride in Europe… and crossing 20k HP 😎

Come along and join me on my crazy travels during the last few days…
We hop on 3 planes after we drive in the middle of the night to the first airport. The next day we will hop on a 5 hour train journey… find out where I am right now 😁 A break was so needed from the cold, snow and ice… and of course my renovation works. I will be visiting friends I had not seen for a long while.
I also wanted to share today with you that my account: littlebee4 crossed yesterday 20.000 HP 🥳 wooohhooo so proud of that.

Ok let’s go…

We had to wake up at 02:15am, a time of the night one even could have stayed awake hahaha and not even bother to go to bed in the first place.
I did go to bed… even if it just was to rest a bit at 23:00pm. Nope, I didn’t sleep haha
At 3:00am we jumped in the car. I didn’t take any photos of these moments as a) I was tired and b) it was very cold and the rain wasn’t rain but ice cold sleet 🥶❄️ so I ran to the car, loaded up and started driving.
The drive was long… along the way the temperatures ranged from -2 degrees Celsius to 2 degrees Celsius.
We left in the dark but at 4:30am it started to get light already. Yes, we are very north.

We dropped off the rental car, said good bye to it and headed into the first airport.
It is a very tiny airport and has only 4 gates. Usually only 2 are used.
We are waiting here to start walking towards the plane. Luckily the sleet stopped. Don’t let the bright sky fool you. It is only 05:30am in the next photo.

Once boarded and in our seat we see the stairs are being removed and soon we will go… 🛫 you can see the wings have been sprayed with de-icer after a cold night.

A little bit…

… and off we are. In the sky on our way to the second airport. It is 06:02am Almost no snow along the coast here. At the cabin we still had snow when we left.

Above the clouds we see more from the sunrise.

In the second airport we don’t have much time… as we only have a 50 minute layover… we go straight to the gate, that changed one time along the way hahaha
At 08:01am we are already seated in the second plane of the day and it starts soon rolling out.

Bye bye Stockholm Sweden 🇸🇪

There is a long queue on the runway and our plane is waiting eagerly to go. About 7 planes took off right before us that were in the queue in the corner / bend I could take a photo of a few of them.

After about 20 minutes it was our time to fly…
About here I started to feel tired and hungry as we had been up for a long time… I discovered I forgot to pack our breakfast 🥪🥪 and it would be in our fridge at home. Oh… no… my forgetful brain is getting worse the last months 😔 We will get something to eat at the next airport.

Almost arriving at the airport I see tulip 🌷 fields that tell me we are in The Netherlands 🇳🇱 can you spot them?

After landing we arrived at the third airport of the day : Schiphol.

Let’s wander around a bit to stretch our legs… it has been already a long day. We need to find also something for lunch.
We wander by little shops with typical Dutch things… let me show you this delft’s blue famous couple, they are a well known view in their traditional clothing.

Of course… there had to be a shop with tulips in all kinds and forms. They even sold tulip bulbs. 🌷🌷🌷

Wandering further we see some cool artwork on a construction site inside the airport. Have a look at all the details and things you can see.

Another shop had cute wooden elephants.

With many souvenirs from Amsterdam… but… a special offer of € 219,95 for this elephant 😳 I think I won’t shop today hahaha

The Netherlands is a small country and most of it is below sea level… they even advertised it in the airport. I lived in this country for about 24 years. So I know it well, if you didn’t know 😉

After a lunch that was rather disappointing (I only ever had twice a nice meal in an airport, this one was way down the list of acceptable haha) we wander a bit further. Our layover is over 4 hours.

In the hallways we find some more artworks. This one changes colours. If you look closely you see 4 faces.

They represent the 4 seasons.

Quite… interesting… 🤔 not sure if I like them… nope, I don't.

Later in the afternoon we are boarding our third plane. Sitting all the way in the back… it was a full flight.

And off we go on our way to the runway.

Bye bye Schiphol.

Bye bye the Netherlands 🇳🇱 till the next time.

In this plane I tried to sleep a bit but we had a lot of turbulence this day. On each flight to be honest. So every time I drifted away… I woke up again with a bump haha

After a while we see a city:

We landed in Bordeaux France 🇫🇷 after a long day. We couldn’t wait to get out of the 4th airport. Sadly it was raining… and we walk a while to our accommodation for the night.
After dropping off the bags at a hotel we headed into the city’s center. To take in some stunning views (I will share soon with you in another post) and to eat a delicious evening meal. The rain was slowly disappearing… when we got really tired we headed back to the hotel late in the evening as we so needed some sleep.
The next morning we had to catch an early (for us after a long previous day) train 🚂

The train had rather dirty windows so I wasn’t able to capture the wonderful views along the tracks.
The ride would last 5 hours… at the last few stations I capture these views.

We are heading to my friend’s place in southern France 🇫🇷 on the Mediterranean coast.
Here we are passing by Colombiers a beautiful place.

Next stunning place we went by is Béziers. Can’t wait to check it out one day on foot in the next weeks.

So while I am here on the French Mediterranean coast I will keep posting my usual posts and here and there I will share with you some stunning adventures in the beautiful country of France.

When do I return north? No idea yet. We have no return date set in stone yet as it will be another crazy adventure again. We will be driving back home through several countries. Not too soon though. I guess 3 or 4 weeks would do perfectly to rest a bit and catch up with friends.

One more thing I wanted to share today with you: I crossed 20K HIVEPOWER 🐝🐝 wooohhooo
