Back to the 19th century - Rooster's church in Szeged
While I was walking through the streets of Szeged, a charming town in Hungary, I saw a lot of churches that always attract my attention because of their historical value and their resistance to time, and on the other hand, they fit perfectly into the city's ambiance. Another church that I saw and entered to see its interior is the Reformation Church. This church looks like a castle and is very old. It dates back to the 19th century.
It was built as a sign of solidarity after the flood that hit this town in the past. The then royal deputy Lajoš Tisa, a prominent historical figure, gave land to the citizens of Protestant Christianity for free.
It's nice to see examples of solidarity in the past when everyone contributed to the reconstruction of this city and to people continuing to live normally.
What is characteristic of this church is that there is a rooster on top of it. That's why they call it the Rooster's church. The rooster heralds a new day and symbolizes spiritual vigilance, faith and devotion to God.
I went inside.
It was unusual and different from the churches I see most often.
Stained glass is an indispensable detail of all the churches I have seen here and symbolizes the joy of the variety of colors.
I also saw the organ here, but it is smaller than in the cathedral I wrote about in the previous post.
This church is especially beautiful in the evening when the small bricks from which it was built show its architectural beauty

Really very beautiful. I like its pillars and stained glass windows. I can almost hear that organ. Greetings
Stained glass is characteristic of almost all churches in Hungary. It is very beautiful.

I am glad you found it interesting. Thank you for reading! 😊
The church does really look like a castle. It could be a setting for movie. The interior design is impressive; I love the wooden elements or designs particularly the wooden staircase. I hope this structure will remain standing through the tests of time as it is a symbol of unity and strength.
Yes, it could be a setting for a movie, that's true.. 😊 I also hope that these old buildings will stand the test of time, they have great historical value. Thank you.
