(ENG-TUR ) JOURNEY TO THE LAND OF YILKI HORSES: EYNIF PLAIN NATURE HIKE - YILKI ATLARININ DİYARINA YOLCULUK: EYNİF OVASI DOĞA YÜRÜYÜŞÜ

Today, I would like to talk about a nature walk that I attended on Sunday and that was magnificent for me. I had never attended this walking route before. The main purpose of our walk was to see the yılki horses coming down to the Eynif plain up close. Of course, our other goal was to have a nice walk in nature that would relax our souls.

Bugün sizlerle Pazar günü katılmış olduğum ve benim için muhteşem geçen bir doğa yürüyüşünden bahsetmek istiyorum. Bu yürüyüş rotasına daha önce hiç katılmamıştım. Yürüyüşümüzün temel amacı Eynif ovasına inen yılkı atlarını yakından görmekti. Bir diğer amacımız ise elbette ki doğa içinde ruhumuzu dinlendirecek güzel bir yürüyüş yapmaktı.

The starting point of our walk will be Ormana village in the İbradi district of Antalya. İbradi district is a district that is approximately 2 hours away from Antalya. For this reason, we started early in the morning. I was at the meeting point at 7 in the morning. And our journey towards İbradi district began for this unique experience.

Yürüyüşümüzün başlangıç noktası Antalya’nın İbradi ilçesinde yer alan Ormana köyü olacak. İbradi ilçesi Antalya’ya yaklaşık 2 saat uzaklıkta olan bir ilçedir. Bu sebeple sabaha erken başladık. Sabah saat 7’de buluşma noktasında bulundum. Ve bu eşsiz deneyim için İbradi ilçesine doğru yolculuğumuz başladı.

After taking a short breakfast break on the road, we were informed by our guide on the bus. I learned that we would go on a short tour in Ormana village, which is the starting point of our walk. Frankly, this made me very happy. İbradi district is also a district famous for its houses and is a place visited by many tourists.

Yol üzerinde ufak bir kahvaltı molası verdikten sonra otobüste rehberimiz tarafından bilgilendirildik. Yürüyüşümüzün başlangıç noktası olan Ormana köyünde ufak bir geziye çıkacağımızı öğreniyorum. Açıkçası bu beni çok mutlu etti. İbradi ilçesi aynı zamanda evleriyle ünlü bir ilçemiz olup birçok turist tarafından ziyaret edilen bir yerdir.

These houses, known as button houses, are made of wood and stones. These houses are called button houses because the wooden pieces left outside of these houses look like buttons. We will have the opportunity to examine these houses closely during this short tour.

Düğmeli evler olarak bilinen bu evleri yapmak için tahta ve taşlardan yararlanılıyor. Bu evlerin dışında kalan tahta parçaları düğme gibi göründüğü için bu evlere düğmeli ev deniyormuş. Bu ufak gezintide bu evleri de yakından inceleme fırsatımız olacak.

Our journey, which lasts about 2 hours, ends and we arrive at Ormana village. As soon as I get off the bus, I breathe in the clean air of the village. I see a crowd of a tour group that came to the village before us.

Yaklaşık 2 saat süren yolculuğumuz sona eriyor ve Ormana köyüne varıyoruz. Otobüsten iner inmez köyün tertemiz havasını içime çekiyorum. Köye bizden önce gelmiş olan bir tur grubunun kalabalığı görünüyor.

The locals of the village have lined up natural products that might attract the attention of tourists on stalls. After glancing at the products, I start to tour to examine the button houses that I mentioned at the beginning of my article. These houses, which have a different architecture, look very beautiful from a distance. I get closer and examine the structure in more detail. After taking lots of photos, I continue walking towards the point where the bus is located.

Köyün yerlileri tarafından turistlerin ilgisini çekebilecek doğal ürünler tezgâhlara dizilmiş. Göz ucuyla ürünlere baktıktan sonra yazımın başında da bahsetmiş olduğum düğmeli evleri incelemek üzere turlamaya başlıyorum. Farklı bir mimariye sahip bu evler uzaktan çok güzel görünüyor. Yaklaşıp yapıyı daha ayrıntılı inceliyorum. Bol bol fotoğraf çekindikten sonra otobüsün bulunduğu noktaya doğru yürümeye devam ediyorum.

At the same time, I see that there is the Ormana Janissary Museum in the village. Although I couldn’t visit it because it was closed, I find it surprising that there is a museum in this small village.

Aynı zamanda köyün içinde Ormana Yeniçeri Müzesi olduğunu görüyorum. Kapalı olduğu için ziyaret edemesem de bu küçük köyde müze bulunmasını şaşırtıcı buluyorum.

After a short while, our guide gathers the group to go to the hiking spot. We take a short 5-minute bus ride. We arrive at the beginning of the marked Toros road, which is also in Ormana village.

Kısa bir süre sonra rehberimiz yürüyüş noktasına gitmek üzere grubu topluyor. 5 dakikalık kısa bir otobüs yolculuğu yapıyoruz. Yine Ormana köyünün içerisinde bulunan işaretli Toros yolunun başlangıcına varıyoruz.

Our tour guide shares the things we need to pay attention to during the hike and informs us about the route. Our route, which will last approximately 15 km, will end in the Eynif plain. We start the hike with the hope of seeing the Yılkı horses in the plain.

Tur rehberimiz yürüyüş sırasında dikkat etmemiz gerekenleri paylaşıp rota hakkında bilgilendirme yapıyor. Yaklaşık 15 km sürecek rotamız Eynif ovasında son bulacak. Ovada Yılkı atlarını görmek ümidiyle yürüyüşe başlıyoruz.

From the beginning of our hike, nature begins to offer its magnificent view. We walk carefully on paths made of large and small stones.

Yürüyüşümüzün başından itibaren doğa muhteşem manzarasını sunmaya başlıyor. İrili ufaklı taşlardan oluşan yollardan dikkatle yürüyoruz.

We see the unique view of the Toros Mountains along the way. The sunlight filtering through the pine trees fascinates me with the beams it creates.

Yol boyunca Toros Dağları’nın eşsiz manzarasını görüyoruz. Çam ağaçları arasından süzülen güneş ışığı oluşturduğu hüzmeler ile beni büyülüyor.

Our guide sometimes stops and gives information about the surrounding vegetation and the region. With what we learn, this hike ceases to be just a physical activity and becomes a small nature lesson. The Toros Fir, a species that we can see especially in this region, accompanies us along the way.

Rehberimiz bazen durup çevredeki bitki örtüsü ve bölge hakkında bilgiler veriyor. Öğrendiklerimizle bu yürüyüş sadece fiziksel bir aktivite olmaktan çıkıp, küçük bir doğa dersi hâline geliyor. Özellikle bu bölgede görebileceğimiz bir tür olan Toros Köknarı yol boyunca bize eşlik ediyor.

We take occasional water breaks and recharge our batteries with the snacks we brought with us. I prefer to make wraps out of the healthy products I brought with me for my lunch break.

Ara ara su molaları veriyor, yanımızda getirdiğimiz atıştırmalıklarla enerji depoluyoruz. Yemek molası için yanıma aldığım sağlıklı ürünleri dürüm yaparak yemeyi tercih ediyorum.

After about 3 hours of walking, we reach the wide plain of Eynif Plain. The view looks truly magnificent. Clear blue sky, lush green plains and a ground covered with daisies…

Yaklaşık 3 saatlik yürüyüşün ardından Eynif Ovası'nın geniş düzlüğüne ulaşıyoruz. Manzara gerçekten muhteşem görünüyor. Açık mavi gökyüzü, yemyeşil ova ve papatyalarla kaplı zemin…

We continue on this plain for a while to meet the Yılkı horses.

Yılkı atlarıyla buluşmak için bu düzlükte bir süre ilerliyoruz.

Uzakta yavaş yavaş süzülen atlar...

A group of horses are quite far away but still clearly visible. Watching these horses running freely in the heart of nature is an indescribable feeling. We want to stay quiet and just watch. We are careful not to scare them or miss them. Some look at us with curious eyes, while others continue to graze with their heads down.

Bir grup at oldukça uzakta ama yine de net bir şekilde görünüyorlar. Doğanın tam kalbinde, özgürce koşuşturan bu atları izlemek tarifsiz bir duygu. Sessiz kalıp sadece izlemek istiyoruz. Onları ürkütmemek ve kaçırmamak için dikkatli davranıyoruz. Bazıları meraklı gözlerle bize bakıyor, bazıları ise başını eğip otlamaya devam ediyor.

I take lots of photos to immortalize this moment. I am in nature, away from the modern world, just breathing and enjoying the view.

Bu anı ölümsüzleştirmek için bol bol fotoğraf çekiyorum. Doğanın içinde, modern dünyadan uzak, sadece nefes alıp manzaranın tadını çıkarıyorum.

After spending some time on the plain, we slowly start to prepare to return. We take our steps tired but happy. As we walk towards the point where the bus is waiting, we chat with our friends about this experience.

Bir süre ovada vakit geçirdikten sonra yavaş yavaş dönüş için hazırlıklara başlıyoruz. Yorgun ama mutlu bir şekilde adımlarımızı atıyoruz. Otobüsün beklediği noktaya doğru ilerlerken bir yandan arkadaşlarımızla bu deneyim hakkında sohbet ediyoruz.

This nature walk was not only a trip for me, but also a soul renewal. If you want to have a peaceful and impressive experience surrounded by nature, I definitely recommend this walking route to the Eynif Plain.
